02 WS6 vs. Lightning
My car.....02 WS6 M6 with lid and bellows only (stock filter even) vs a Lightning with a catback. A mutual friend of ours says that he will walk my *** from a dig and from a 45 mph roll. He's applying the whole boost, vacuum, horsepower thing but I just dont see it. Out of the hole he'll get me with an automatic, but I think I should eventually catch him. But from 45??? I know that this probably isnt the right section to post this, but it is supposed to happen tomorrow night. Thanks

I raced a stock '02 Lightning from a dig last summer with pleasing results. We were both stock at the time (I also have a M6). Since it was my first race in the car I didn't launch very well and he immediately jumped about 1 truck length in front of me, but by the time I reached 3rd gear I walked right past him. I'd say around the quarter mile mark I was about 3 car lengths in front. Then he did a ricer flyby after I shut down. You should have no problems taking this guy.

I dunno lets see--a 8.3L V-10 500 hp rated with a 4.11. A stock 5.7L 325 HP rated with a 3.43. The TA might get the jump but I don't think for long unless the guy driving the truck really sucks.

lets see...Power:weight ratio, Horrid Wheel/tire combo that is near IMPOSSIBLE to launch let alone the unsprung weight/rotational mass of those beast. Yea, they're cute and all, but heavy as hell. A 4 foot floor shifter, and a nice Torquey V-10 with absolutely no weight over the *** end.....I'll take my chances~!
Best i've seen a SRT-10 run in STOCK form(no wheel/tire change, no bolt ons), is mid 13's....
and the TA has 3.42's not 3.43's

Maybe a bad driver...most stockers run mid to low 13's maybe even high 12's depending on which programming table they got from the factory...
Let's keep in mind this guy has a 02 w/ the ls6 intake also.....that car can easily dip in the 12's w/ just free mods....stock auto 2.73 geared 98 TA is MUCH more prone to run a high 13....hahahi admit my first motor in my car ran high 13's, but it was a ABSOLUTE turd from the factory....i replaced it witha bone stock motor, and it went 12.96 with the same mods.....
