Is this a good set up
Have a 68 Camaro with 98 LS1, I have purchased the following thus far, question is it a good setup:
LS6 243 Heads (yellow beehives) should I replace springs?
LS6 Intake
CAM Comp 223/230 571/573 112
SLP ported Oil pump w/ double roller
Trick Flow 7.4 Push Rods
Do I need to CNC the 243?
What type of head gasket?
Are the stock beehives springs okay with the CAM or should I got to to better?
Do I need to replace the rockers?
Any recommendations will be much appreciated!

get better springs with any aftermarket cam. pac 1518s will work fine.
to better answer your question we will need to know your goals for the car.
rockers do not need to be replaced. personally i would go a bit bigger with the cam like a tr228 cam

Upgrade! Best to play it safe than sorry. Honestly I say give the f14 cam a shot. Its right below .600 lift so u wont have to worry about clearance with heads and too much load on springs.. Choose the lsa u would lk, personally id do a 110 lsa so itll sound choppy being its a old school car. Had one installed in brothers trans am with full weight and drag radials. Ran a 11.40 at 131 with a poor 60 ft.

to each their own. we forgot to ask, will this car just be a cruiser thats gonna have some get up and go or is it a track car? I only suggested the f14 because its very drivable and provides good power. If its more for track then by all means throw something bigger of course.

Its just a driver but may take to the track once in a while....so you suggest going to a bigger cam. What's the word on stock 98-99 lifters as well as the rockers. Are they good or should I upgrade for the peace of mind? I was thinking LS7 lifters but need recommendation on rockers.

I myself have ls7 lifters in my truck and they will be going in the v during my build up. Many of my buddies run them also and so far they work great and are very quiet. I say since your there at least swap out the lifters so you won't have to go back later down the road. For the rockers you can pass with the stockers and really don't need to swap them out. But if your looking for something after market many guys on here run the yella terra which can be purchased around $600 heres a link:

As for the cam you can ask a dozen guys what they recommend and you'll get a dozen different answers. I recommend the f14 because it pulls very well and at the same time put down some good numbers on a mustang dyno (464 hp/429 tq.) that was thru stock 243 heads and full bolt ons. Search around on youtube and you can see what numbers guys put down with times and also the best part, *listen to how it SOUNDS*. heres the f14 cam on a 113 lsa
