Negative. The accumulated recorded mileage is stored in the cluster electronics.

Sorry!

in my 87 TA, I moved over the mileage chip to the "new" digital panel and it worked...mine has the digital console however

Is there any way to reprogram one...does a dealer have any access to anything like that...can the Guage be fixed?

I don't think it's legal to do so unless a dealer was replacing a cluster. They'd have to have the car in their possession for service. I doubt you'll find anybody to take your odometer and change the numbers.

So if I got another cluster a dealership could fix it or would it have to be a brand new cluster that I have to buy through them? Btw. That blue ta looks really good

The dealer will sell you one and require your old cluster in exchange as they rebuild them and resell them. Also they will program it to your current mileage.

Question. Will the car be branded as TMU or odometer descrepacy on Carfax or the title?

What is "TMU"?

TMU=True Mileage Unknown. A lot of states brand the title as such if there is a odometer issue which affects the value. Kind of like Flood, Salvage, etc..

FL does a mileage exempt if the car is 10+ years old.

FL does a mileage exempt if the car is 10+ years old.

PA does that too, not sure if it's 10 or 20 years old. Mileage exempt and TMU are two different things. Mileage exempt can be from age, TMU means there was a problem with the miles reported.

Welcome to LS1tech!

Here in The US, there are federal laws that pretty much prohibit odometer rollback.

Paul, your link seems to only cover odometer fraud, I'm not sure it would apply in this case, if the op is trying to set the correct milage.

Some companies can roll the odometer forward for you, that's legal. Rolling it back is definitely illegal. You'd have to buy a new one from the dealer and have them set the correct mileage.
