Suprisingly I made more power with the cutout closed..
That was with my MTI S2 heads w/the X1 cam..
Weird huh? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I picked up 19 rwhp with mine over my Flowmaster Catback on my 94 Z28 with my old setup, Ported Heads and LT4 Hotcam. It was just a lowly LT1 too. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_images/icons/tongue.gif" />

I don't know about horsepower, but on the quarter my C3 picked up 4 tenths and 1.8 mph by opening up the exhaust. It went from running a 15.4 to a 15.0 with no other changes. But it is completely stock. So I gained a bit

98TAauto--go ahead and break down and get that cutout. It is one of the cheapest <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> mod you can do and more than likely you will run the quarter faster. <img border="0" alt="[driving]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_driving3.gif" /> It is good as the 3600 vig and Nitto tires. Cheers and good luck--I had to chime in. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Kent, the cutout was the first mod I did 3 years ago <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> I just wanted to know how much gain guys saw from capping and un capping it on the dyno. I know the car feels 4times stronger uncapped from a roll <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Re: cam/heads dyno #'s with cutout open and closed?
I can beat all claims so far. I have a motor that really likes to breathe.
I picked up 32rwhp and 42rwtq with dual cutouts opened in the y-pipe just behind the headers. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />
I have the stock 3" catback that is on the WS6 and an obviously crappy FLOWMASTER <img border="0" alt="[barf]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_barf.gif" /> (slowmaster) muffler.
My sentiments when I saw that were OH **** <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />
