right before i start pulling the engine apart again my cam is a esp 236/242 111lsa when worm it sounds like a sewing machine it has double row springs and ls7 lifters the oil light takes 2-3 secounds to go out when starting up hot or cold
would you being checking the oil pump or is it normal with this size cam?

I got a comp 224/230 with comp 918 springs and comp 7.4 pushrods and when listening real hard under the hood I got "sewing machine" noise too. I just attribute it to the comp xer lobes with fast ramp, I agree if you get a custom cam or something like an eps cam would quiet the valve train noise down.
