its not that you cant dd with them its just not the best idea, i have done it for 2 years and i can tell you im very careful when i drive but ive have had a handful of close calls just because of the drag setup, now its just a weekend driver so its not as much of an issue, also there was a guy a few weeks ago that wrecked his car because he couldnt stop right away.its never about wheel damage lol, just want people to be aware that goofing around in a parking lot is not like every day driving

well we dont know whats done to it.. it could be stock or it could be fully built. i dont treat my car like that but thats because tires are expensive. i feel like going to the track and launching hard would damage more. also i didnt watch the original video but he might not have been bouncing off the rev limiter

I've seen it done before, it's said to be bearable if you take turns easy, avoid huge potholes, brake accordingly and use the right kind of tire up front.
Not sure why people do it though, kind of dumb IMO. You can pick up some cheap 16" Z28 wheels or something like that and some 245 tires for not that much money from the classifieds on here, craigslist, parts yard, etc., etc., and you won't have to worry about taking turns slow and all of that extra stuff that comes with trying to drive with skinnies.

^ kinda dumb ,kinda, honest i would take my skinnys any day over some 16 inch stock wheels, like i said its not the best thing to do ,by no means do i think its good on a dd but a weekend toy is more than fine, just have to not be an ***, easier said than done for some, wonbadz28 ,its his car he can do what he wants with it, honest your telling me launching hard from a dig,or shifting at red line is much better lol. with all the money i put in my damn car your damn right im going to beat on it, no fun having alot of hp and not using it .

HAHA, that is Jerry in the video. He is from the Kansas City area. Car was a caged, cam only, 400 rwhp car with t56 and narrowed 9". Last I knew, he was down to 11.4X's (should be videos on youtube of his runs, username wlsmoku). He enjoys his car very much, yes he beats on it and takes it to the track as well (races in the Vamp series). It finally spun a main bearing at the track with around 130,000 miles on the stock shortblock. It is now undergoing a complete transformation with built LS2/S60.
FYI-He calls his car the "Purple Tire Eater"

Yea, I used to do stuff like this all the time few years back. My wife an lil girl was riding around earlier in my white z, a turbo kia kept messing with us on a main road, Finally i just laid into it. They just wanted to see it run. But i told my wife that if it would have been a few years back id done it the first time they reved. Guess now i care more about having to do the work, hurting someoneelse, or getting a ticket. But if its behind a building like the video when it snows we go out an play. Even took our 03 suburban we had lol,
