Thumbs up 1990 mustang lx vs camaro ss

My buddy is getting ready to buy a 1990 mustang lx fully built
5.0 bored .040 over. e303 cam, msd ignition, king cobra clutch, mishimoto radiator, new water pump, bbk short shift, shorty headers. borla exhaust with cats, new power slot rotors and the rear end is going out what are my chances against my 2001 ss with slp lid and 2.5 true with magnaflow mufflers other than that its all stock factory 3.23 gears give me some real answers its time to put this to rest?

Yah that is funny stuff. OP you will completely destroy the mustang with the camaro. That mustang is at best a 13.8 car but likely not near that fast.

Default fully built ???

When you say "fully built" do you only mean a built bottom end? Your description of the Mustang describes a low 14 sec 1/4 mile car at best. If that '90 LX doesn't have a nice set of aftermarket heads and/or something like a 3.73/4.10 gear, its not going to be much of a race for you.

Aluminum heads? What size? May give you all you can handle if its the right heads and intake etc. if it has any kind of cast iron head then try to put money on the run you would win by far if this is the case.

It depends on who is running what tires. The mustang on a set of nittos will probably put it on you from a stop. They will run mid 13's in stock form. This car might work pretty well as said before with a cam and decent set of heads, could easily put it well into the 12's. Provided there is traction associated. Otherwise radial to radial, you probably won't have a problem going around him.

Stock block, heads and intake with a crappy alphabet cam is not what I call fully built. If that is all he has you will own him. They only had 225hp from the factory. Where he does have the advantage is weight.

Mine has typical performers, roller rockers, holley systemax, trickflow cam, 4.10's and LT's with full exhaust, pulleys, 80mm MAf and 24# injectors. At its one track outing for fun it ran high 12's on spinning street tires and fish tailing on shifts with 3.55's, no LT's, with a DR it could pop 40's I think. my 00 Z28 M6 ran 13.3@106.5 with a lid and catback. With auto and him manual you have the advantage of driver error. Put it to rest by running them and report back with video.

He calls it fully built so when he wins he can just tell everyone he beat a fully built mustang and he can feel good about himself. Just like he adds it has a mishimoto radiator, powerslot rotors, and a new water pump so he can make it sound like its modded out the *** with all these performance parts.

What specs? All you said was it had a cam and bolt ons, and bored .40 over. Didn't state compression, what heads, if its a stroker or not, what fuel, and if it was a stock block. just judging by your post im sure its just a cam bolt on 5.0

This, that is not even close to a fully built fox. If you want to call it anything it would be a bolt on fox with a **** cam and rebuilt shortblock
