It's not that simple, unless you are mostly racing don't get one

Need more details of your intended single plane setup to give you an opinion. Also if you do switch a cam change is necessary for strong results

Would you be looking to do a 4150 TB or an elbow with an LS style?

EXACTLY!!!!

Drag race only, big cam, high rpm? = Single Plane

Street/Strip = Plastic manifold, LS6/FAST

Maybe someone that's running one on street car can chime in. Personaly i think if someone is running
a big stall/cam you wont feel the loss of torque anyway.

Coming from a person that has owned a single Plain intake street car , I do not recommend it , and if you do you need to run a 4hole tb
I went from ls6 to vic Jr with low pro elbow and lost power everywhere
I am now using a proflo w/ boost and love it
