Default Cam suggestions?

Hey guys thinking of switching out my comp 224 for something else. Here is the car.
347cu., stage 2 ai 5.3 heads, comp 918's, 3.23 gear, long tubes, ls6 intake, 85mm maf, ported tb, 3600 stall. Will probably be upgrading injectors to 42's at the same time. Was thinking ms3 but not sure. Any suggestions? I would prefer to not flycut.
Thanks!

Get a custom one specd by someone, Pat G or Geoff at EPS. I have only spoke with Geoff and he is a great guy, cant get much more down to earth than him.

Yea if you are looking to spending the $400 for another cam you might as well get a custom spec grind. I have done alot of research and eps cams are making more power with less lift and duration, all while having less aggressive ramp rates which is LOVELY for the valvetrain life cycle...I have a comp 224/230 .58x lift cam and if i didnt get it for $100 I would of went with a custom eps for sure....I should be their spokesperson lol...but for real they are the ls cam gurus

I doubt you can fit an ms3 without flycutting with stage II 5.3 heads, gotta measure to know for sure. There are slightly smaller cams that would fit better and perform on par with it though.

Talk to Ai and maybe they will cut you a deal on a custom cam since they worked your heads before.

232/236 112 profile would be a really nice upgrade over the 224 now, showing bigger gains above 4500K+.

Am I going to have any idling issues with that profile? I had frost tune the 224, and on 112 it really lopes and chugs when its cold

It is going to be tough to add more power without trading off something for drivability, especially coming from a cam that has 0 overlap at .050 lift. A 232/236 on 112 cam has 10 degrees overlap, and is in the sweet spot for better cylinder filling on the top end. But all cams are a comprise between good manners and big power.

I assume yours is a mailorder tune. Perhaps some drivabilty tuning on your current setup could smooth things out for you.

Yes, I agree. I was going to have the car retuned, just figured since I am upgrading stall, and paying for another tune I would change out the cam also. Mail order was just easier since I can't seem to find a tuner within 4hrs of me that isn't at least $600. Anyone know of a tuner in central WI, minneapolis, MN area?
