you know when you downshift or upshift with ls1's, sometimes you hear a big loud pop kinda like a firecracker. sounds good. is there a technical term for this? What causes it?

i have the same problem, my car sounds like a machine gun sometimes. WHY?

in closed loop fuel is not measured yet(untill the car is up to operating temps), so the extra fuel causes a little popping.

No biggie.

lol....yea i passed one of those neon srt-4's with the turbo and i had a fast and the furious flashback when she shifted(yea it was a chick). almost veered off the road i was laughing so hard....a neon with a turbo....

but concerning those pops....yea, they happen to me when i do a quick cold start and dump it off the bat...not great for the car but it goes away. oddly enough it stopped happening lately. maybe i calmed down driving a bit. doubtful tho.
