Default Upgraded my watch today

While in the jewelry store to get some ear rings for my daughter, I saw a new Movado series 800 watch today. I immediately wanted it so in order to get it easier, I got a Bulova for my wife too. I had never seen a Movado that had multiple dials on it, only the plain ones.

if that's the all gold one it's pretty cool looking. I saw one in VEgas but would only buy it if it was solid gold and not plated. They only make a plated one.

Just don't understand the fascination some men have with watches. IMO its along the same line as women and purses.

I don't get it either. Some watches are insanely nice and the craftsmanship is amazing. Just not my thing. Got friends who one up each other on their breitling's and I just can't catch that wave. Not saying there is anything wrong with it- there is some very cool **** out there just not for me.

Because they are mechanical devices, and the top level ones are still hand made with fine craftsmanship. Very similar to how top end cars are, right? And most men don't understand our fascination with cars.

I love watches, but can't ever convince myself to buy them. I couldn't justify a $1k+ purchase on one anyway, but love looking at them. Hell, there is a winger Swiss Army watch that im in love with and I can't convince myself to spend the hundred bucks(on sale ) for the thing.

OP post pics!

its a jewelry/status thing, not so much about the watch itself.

and true, lots of guys don't get the car thing, but its totally different. with cars you can go faster and compete. with watches.....i guess you could maybe tell time slightly better than another, but honestly who gives a damn about that lol

^yes some people look at a car as a hunk of metal. Some look at it as a hobby.

Watch aficionados DO look at what you are wearing, and can tell if you are a broke dick or actually have some taste. Just because you may not notice, believe me - several do. Especially when you get into the executive level at most companies. Buying yourself a nice watch is what most consider a reward for hard work. Knowing you can blow thousands just because you can.

Can't compare a car to a watch. My car can get me to work, a watch will tell me I'm late to work because I had to ride my bike since I do not have a car...

If I need to know the time I will look at my phone.
