Default HEADS/CAM, Probably asked before Need advice

Ok I know this is probably been asked a million times before but I have a slightly different approach and want to look at my options

01 z28 with bolt ons and a yank stall (still can't figure out what size believe is a 3k one)

Want to reach around 450rwhp but anywhere between 420-450rwhp would be fine

Ok I dont want to spend a fortune on the this setup but want something streetable with that much power or even more if possible, and able to daily drive it

Something with good power without compromising gas and not a huge choppy idle

Any ideas would help thanks

custom camshaft, a set of ported 243's and a fast 102 should get you over the 400rwhp mark unlocked converter.. nitrous is always another alternative.. but i dont see you hitting 450 rwph or more on a auto not wanting to spend the green.

Ported 243's, LG g5x2 cam, and an ls6 intake manifold and ls6 throttle body will get you over 420rwhp easily

the only way you are going to get 450 rwhp for cheap is by buying a huge cam that has no bottom end and needs to be revved up to like 4500 rpm to make any power, granted that after that you are hauling *** lol...

the only way in my eyes to get that kind of horsepower is to get aftermarket heads and you wont have to buy a mammoth cam...but if on the cheap cheap than get the donkey dick cam lol

No difference in TBs between LS1/6 intakes. Ported 243s are better than 241s. 799 heads are some that go unnoticed to sellers that you can snag for cheap and have them worked on. They're identical to 243s with different valves. 450rwhp will more than likely require a healthy cam, aftermarket heads, and a FAST intake since you're an A4. There are M6 cars that are H/C/I that don't surpass that mark.

Spec your combo accordingly and a dyno number will be just a number. The right stall, right heads, and right cam yield great performance.

you also need to look into getting a better tranny and rearend..... if i were you id do a 3400-3600 converter, custom camshaft, use the ls6 intake and pray for your tranny and rear.

450rwhp....just going off your proposed number has many factors other than the cam and heads to consider in terms of supporting mods. Your rear end is a time bomb with that much power, often the duty cycles of your injectors are near maxed out, your fuel pump may struggle to keep up, a high stall yields high trans temps, the trans is a time bomb with that much power. Not trying to scare you out of modding, just alerting you to some of the problems associated with modding our fine rides.

As for your cam choice, what are your goals other than 450hp? Daily driven car? Street or strip primarily, or what % of both? Stock gears?

yeah like a stated its going to be my daily driver car street primarily and changed my rear end from a 2.73 to a 3.23 rear and swaped the tranny with another stock tranny and discovered i had a stall go figure lol
