Imagine how much harder he would have pulled if he actually did start in the right gear and if he would really bang those gears too. From the looks of it he would start out in 3rd every time and would only shift once every time. Where the lambo jumps out hard and needs to shift twice in the same time span.

nice vids. too bad the z06 driver kept starting off in the wrong gear and gave the lambo the jump every single time - yet still came around him.

While i wouldn't call the lambo a muscle car, it sure does look nice. I certainly agree with the vette driver and his knowledge of roll racing gears.

I know price for performance dollar and looks is all subjective and the Lambo is a completely better car all around, but damn, a Z06 hanging right with it and starting out in 3rd gear! I am very biased though because I want a Z06

Seeing as how 06's can be had now for high 30's/low 40's, seems like a great performance bargain to me. Would still rock the Lamborghini if it was realistic though - I'm sure we all would

I think you can actually getan older mercie for 100k nowadays. Very obtainable but herd the maintance was 10k a year.. Too expensive for most

For the average American, I'd say $100k for a car and $10k/yr on maintenance is rather much. $100k car 5 year loan without a down payment 5% int, 6% sales tax, is ~$2,000/mo.

$833/mo on maintenance? The average American doesn't even spend that on a mortgage payment. I am so interested in Phoenix suburbs because of how cheap houses are that were selling for 2x+ the price in 2006.

I love Lambos, don't get me wrong, but I think "very obtainable" is a bit of a stretch for the average poster on Tech. Otherwise I'm sure we would see more of them running around everywhere. Maybe I'm just frugal?

Ive been in parkings lots with z06s and mercies. No contest the mercie is 10x kooler. The z06s dont even get noticed.

Even in that vid the vette looks awkwardly tall and plain next to the Batmobil.

Nothing but love for z06s from me fo sho but come on awdtbss. Lets be honest here. Lots of people dont even notice a z06 when youcruisearound. In a mercie its exactly the opposit.

End of the day the vette made the lambo scream mercy...... No doubt about it. But speed is just one factor

killemall...that is the first part of that video...there is a part # 2...where they convert that murcielago to rear wheel drive only...try posting that video, as i'm having trouble doing it...that race things were much closer, and yes both cars have at least exhaust...again, the lambo is much heavier and isn't a lp640-4...i love them both, but for the money how can you go wrong with a Z06 ????....best time i have seen out a lp640-4 was 11.40@127.00.

stock for stock there isnt a z06 i would take of a lambo. Even at full tilt the Lambo just sounds wild, let alone comparing interiors.
The z06 is a nasty car and a blast to drive, but i dont see myself taking one over a lambo.
