Default Throttle Body Problems - please help

Throttle Body Issues on 2005 CTS-V w/ 70,000k, headers, cam, & street-tune:

Do I need a new throttle body or is it something else?

- My car doesn't want to hold idle, revs dip a few time sand eventually it putters out
- Don't think it does this on a cold start (seems odd, could have been coincidence)
- Adjusting the idle with tuning does not help fix the problem
- I can keep it alive by giving revving it up a bit
- Car has enters "reduced engine power" on start up
- Getting a bunch of throttle body codes (can get if needed)
- Possibly unrelated - there is yellow gunk in the PCV hose connection (pics attached)

I understand this could be caused by limpmode itself, will try clearing that.

I tried clearing limp mode by pulling the 10a ecu fuse for a few minutes. Idled fine on cold start, then once it warmed up it dipped into low revs and puttered out.

Any ideas???

In the oilfield we call that a parrafin build up.

What's your PCV set-up consist of? That ****'s bad right there. I'd take everything off and clean it out; brake cleaner or something.

You're engines idle issues could potentially be caused by alot of different things ,,,,,,maybe 15 or more possibilities , but some of the more likely causes are going to be dirty injectors , throttle position sensor , idle air control valve , low fuel pressure , etc ,,,,,,,,,the best thing You can do if You have any natural repair abilities is to write down all the code #'s and if You have an Auto-Zone where You live , bring them there and they will print out the whole diagnostic testing procedure for each code for given vehicle ,,,,,,,or You can google and probably get at least some of the diag stuff there .

P.S. this thread is in the wrong section

Jeez, ok a lot of codes... Some are old and have always been there such as the entertainment ones. The car only ran for a second before shutting down (not as cold today, wonder if that has something to do with it starting when it is cold...) Not sure if codes are useful when they car only is on for a moment.

I am replacing the throttle body, hope that fixes it. But any insights are appreciated.

Throttle bodies don't wear out ,,,,,,,it could be damaged but pretty unlikely ,,,,,,,the idle air control solenoid or the throttle position sensor or both could be bad ,,,,,,,,let me edit ,,,,,,,,the throttle bodies shaft seals could be letting air in ,,,,no the way the shaft bearing and seal are they really won't wear out 4 a long long time,,,,,,,,,each end of the shaft has a sealed roller bearing

With the headers do You even have the 2 oxygen sensors that are past the catylitic convertors??? That's where I'd start is with the O2 sensors and checking the maf

No he has no rear o2 sensors, they have been turned off in the tune. Why would the lack of rear o2 sensors cause the car to run bad and go into reduced power mode?

He has no MAF, this is an SD tune.

Replaced the Throttle body, car seems to run fine. Will take it for a test drive to confirm. If I had to guess I would say it was a bad motor/solenoid.

Anyone need an ls6 TB to port?
