I need help with te most streetable lobe from comp. Im doing either 226/236, around .600 lift or 227/235 with about the same lift on 110LSA , 110ICL. Just need best street friendly type of lobe

I prefer the LSL. Not brutal on valvetrain yet produces good power numbers. I personally ran a custom 227/235 on LSL.

I have the LSL lobes, and have heard they are more aggressive than the old stand by XE, XER lobes and that the LSK are the most violent.

The XE lobes would be a good, but you're giving up power with those lobes, a custom EPS cam would probably be your best choice for power and minimal valvetrain wear. If valvetrain wear is more important then get the XE lobes.

A call to comp tech would be a wise move.

Read this. pat G explains it. it is basicly a LSL lobe with softer seats. ideal for Exhaust lobes and high ratio rocker arms

XRPM/Extreme marine/HUC/LXL are all pretty smooth for hyd. stuff.

Out of the four I listed and probably all in this thread the HUC are the smoothest though.

With any of those lobes you can drive cross country with. It's the springs to control them that you want right.

Im thinkin the 227/235 LSL .614/.621 on 110LSA 110ICL, this isn my daily, but i like to drive it. It should also utilize my ported 806's with 290cfm flow as well. I will be using my new PRC .660 lift dual springs. What are your thoughts guys?? Should have a NASTY idle (what i want) and have good power and dependability. I am in an M6 too BTW

I run a similar cam, also with the LSL lobes (227/231, 111lsa +2) it'll pull hard to 7k (did it 1 time) with very little hp drop, so I'd recommend running some advance. Further more the LSL lobes aren't really a quiet lobe at all, so I'd recommend running a 234 LXL lobe for the exhaust, instead of the 235 LSL lobes. I've also been considering going with the another cam with LSL lobes on the intake side, but with LXL lobes on the exhaust side for a quieter valvetrain than I have now.

What about LXL on both?? Would that be really quiet?? I like the lope of the ASA 226/236 110LSA cam. Just need more lift for my ported heads. Around 600

Most of the valve closing you hear comes from the Exhaust valves, so unless you feel you need/want it for it's other benefits on the intake side, I'd just go with the LSL lobes on the intake side.

There's a lot more involved in making a valvetrain gentle than just lobe designs.
