Default times with my pt4400

ok well, i took it to the track for the first time and i only got a 60' of 1.67 with heads and cam.. i dont have any suspension and only have 3.23's...

my next mod is going to be an LS6 intake.... yeah i know im runnin behind, but i dont think that will help my 60' much.. and a shop said 600 bucks for gears and install.. thats 550 that i dont have..

what should i be getting and is that time about right?? i thought i would at least be cutting high 1.5's correct me if im wrong

what is your raceweight? Were you hooking good, or spinning any? Where were you stalling it up to?

I heard that yank recommends 373 gears with that converter

Did you have the car tuned , what power did it put down , As Cain also said is it hooking , how many runs did you get and what where the times. Post the slipd up and lets see whats going on.

One word, SLICKS. Right now you need traction alot more than you need more power.

Oh and if something happens to the converter damn sure don't tell Yank your running the 3.23's. I agree with the slicks or at least E/T Streets. Good luck and have fun

I also agree that more traction is needed. I still am spinning a bit with ET Streets with my PT4200

i am running et streets 26 x 11.5 and i was not spinning at all.. thatsa what i dont ghet, and i was stalling it up as high as i could, i tried 3 grand and up till it wouldnt hold, i actually red lighted because i rolled past the line so i just took off! but is the only thing im missing is gears since i am hooking then? o and i had no wheel hop either!

it hooked good enough to pull me tire off the ground for the first time!

I use those same tires to race my car. Usually, they don't feel like they are spinning when I launch, but they are. I had a few guys watch me closely while I took off. They said that even on the high 1.5 sixty ft runs the tires were still spinning a few turns right when I took off. This made me happy because I knew that I could easily improve with just a tire swap.

You probably have too much tire if you run at a good track. The 3.23s combined with the 26x11.5s result in a pretty low gear. 3.73s will drop you another .05 - .07 in 60' time; maybe enough to get a 1.59 with a little luck.

I had the 26x11.5x16 with 3.23s and a PT 4000 and I was a bit disappointed with my 60'. 3.73s helped. You might try making a pass with the 10.5s if you can swap with a buddy and see if you gain a bit.

Your launching to high first off. I launch around 2300-2400 if the track is not really hooking good and around 1800-2000 if the track is really hooking hard with 16-17psi in my ET Drags. Your also spinning,i think, when the feeling of the tire sets down then your unloading the suspension and spinning in a forward line enough to kill any of your 60fts. If your set on running the 11.5 i would put some 3.73s in to help with the first 1/8th mile because your 3.23s are falling lower than a 3.08 ratio with the 11.5 ET Streets which is killing your most important part of a run on a A4,first 1/8th mile.

Lower the launch rpms, add some 3.73s or 4.10s and dial in the suspension but if you don't have suspension then it's time to start. Also if you can drop some weight off the front of the car or move some weight (relocate the battery) the Yank 4400 will thank you for it along with your tires.

I run 4.10s/26x10 ET Drag on weld draglites,PT 4400 and full suspension (LCA,Reloc.brackets, panhard rod,RR airbag 24psi,subframes,BMR TA -3 pinion angle and relocated battery in the spare tire compartment).

thanks for the info, i will try lower rpm's and do you have the stock 10 bolt with your 4.10's?? and how many launches have they been through, i would get them but im afraid they would break after about 7-10 launches on my et streets!!

and with your 4.10's and 26" tires, do you happen to shirft into 4th gear or what?? i want them but dont want to do 3-4 shift at WOT (tottaly kills the tranny).. just want to know..and what suspen. should i do first?? thanks

Yes it still has the stock 10 bolt in it with 4.10s. This set of 4.10s has about 50 track passes on it but 4.10s will howl no matter how good someone claims that they will set them up so don't worry if you get them and they start talking to you while driving down the road. If you go with 4.10s i stongly suggest selling the ET streets and getting 10" ET Drags, they will hook more consistant and better IMO.

I have broken 2 sets of 3.73s along with posi and one set of 4.10s so either way a hard launch will break either. I have cut 1.51s-1.53s 30-40 of the 50 passes i have ran on these gears...oh and if you do order 4.10s ask around for the GM 4.10 ring and pinion set because the old schoolers told me that they will hold up to more abuse than the aftermarket ring and pinions.

No i don't shift into 4th gear with the 26x10 ET Drags but i do cross around 6500 rpms and you will need a revlimiter around 6800-6900 rpms if you go with 4.10s.

For suspension i would move the battery to the back first then add a set of LCA with relocation brackets and set the lower control arm on the bottom setting. This location of the control arm to the bottom alone went from a +1 pinion angle to a -1 pinion angle before the BMR Torque arm. If you have enough money left over get some sub frames because after twisting on some low 1.5 60fts or so you will get cracks in your plastic door panels like i did.

I agree that your launch rpm is way too high...I have a vig3200, but my best 60s were always from flooring it off idle if the track was hooking hard. As for suspension, lower control arms, panhard bar, and poly transmount really helped keep my car straight.
