this.
One of the holes is not obtainable, the other is with a drill and tap. If you look at the front of your Lq9, you will probably note a metal tab just below the head on the block on the driver side front of the motor. This is where one of the holes goes. (this is the one you can get back..)
the other hole for the Ls1 is right about where one of the cylinders is on the LQ. I guess no room on this casting for the hole due to larger bore perhaps? either way.. can't get that one.
I've heard there are people running an procharger on LQ blocks all over the place here. I'm sure bob @ brutespeed can help you out though if no one else has any insight as to the specifics.

It'd be nice if someone could show us how they mount, might help explain why this is/isn't a problem.
You can mount an alternator in that spot no problem, but I think you still need to drill that 2nd hole to do it.

The headunit only bolts up one way. Then, depending on your intercooler and piping it may be different. Mine sits like that and has a 90* bend going into the intercooler. The clocking of the volute doesn't matter....it's dependent on your setup. There's 5/16ths allen head cap screws that snug the volute onto the head unit....loosen them and you can spin it in almost any direction you need.
