LS3 rocker scrub pattern with stock rockers, big cam?
I'm assembling my 402 stroker with LS3 heads, and today I measured my pushrod length. In the process I decided to throw a stock pushrod in (very close to the length I need) just to check the scrub pattern of the rocker on the valve. What I found really surprised me. The scrub pattern was very wide. Is this normal with stock rockers? I'm guessing it is because the rocker surface is flatter than that of a roller tip?
Has anybody else checked this with stock LS3 heads and stock rockers? For what it's worth, my cam lift is in the .615 range.

Based on Brian's comments here, it sounds like this wide sweep is normal:

My 5.3L with LS6 cam has a scrub pattern that is maybe .040" narrower than that pattern in the pic ,,,,,,,,,but I would assume that the wider pattern would wear longer with less pitting or ?

First off, what type of lifters and springs are you using for these tests you're performing?
Hydraulic lifters and the springs I see above I assume?
If you're trying to perform a sweep patter at lease use a checker spring that wont bottoms out your lifter.
