anyone have a 600 rwhp N/A ls1 street car?
Ive been going back and forth with a turbo, supercharger built car. I've notice a lot of setup with 800-1000rwhp have removed A/C, modified a lot to fit these systems. Im moving to AZ and i need my A/C even tho its gonna be a weekend car but i need it. i think I've decided to build a powerful N/A car with some nitrous to go with it. I really hate to be hacking up my car. Even if you go turbo with truck mani's u gotta remove your A/C. or other systems u gotta hack up something. So a nice 440, 454 LSX setup would be nice. So i wanted to see if anyone here has a that kind of power in a street driven ls1 car? its been 4yrs since i did the last upgrade and its that time for a new setup.

As they say, No replacement for Displacement.
Check out Pat G's recipe for 500 rwhp
Prolly the cheapest way for Displacement is the GM parts 454 LSX, though you'll add about 100 lbs to the front end. + bigger cubes gives you that *** kicken Torque ! Though boost can do it also...
Though once you get to a certian point, how are you going to get it to hook ?
Mine, @ 560rwhp breaks the tires loose in 1st, 2nd and a lil in 3rd if I really push it ( 315/25/17 ) MT drags. 60 mph in 4th and a lil damp road they break loose n not fun !
I was thinking of putting a 150 shot on it, not. It's scary enough.
In the end, it's all $

I believe you will need more displacement and way better heads than you can bolt on a 383 to make 600 rwhp. 427 or more with ported LS7 style heads would be your best approach. If you want to keep your LS1, it can be wet sleeved by RED or ERL and you will have a great starting point.
For someone who has done it, look up CAMSTER in the Gen IV internal section

I agree you could see more than 500. But Ive also seen a lot less then that. Also thats a Tony Mamo built engine, Its the best of the best of the best combo and parts as well as his own magic he works on the heads and intake.
