Oil Pump Pick up tube..
Any one know of A aftermarket shop the makes a flange so you can bolt the pick up tube to the oil pump that will move it to the easier side of the pump?
Duno why gm didnt org. put the bolt in the pass side of the flange so its not such a PITA!! to get the bolt out and remove the pump.
Alot of ppl have done it and gotten away w it, and Im sure there are those who have dropped the bolt in the oil pan and threw the biggest tool w in arms reach, across the garage lol

BRP Hotrods makes an oil pickup tube girdle that allows you to bolt both sides of the oil pickup tube to the oil pump.

I think it would just go around the end of the pickup tube...I've got my motor back together and in the car, so kind of hard to visualize lol. You could contact them, but it looks like the open side would allow you to just slide it on.

I installed the BRP girdle when I did my first cam swap two years ago, just seemed like a good idea. Doing another swap now and I'm convinced that little $25 part saved my *** - I didn't put the O-ring on the right part of the tube and it was badly pinched. It's EXTREMELY difficult to install with the engine in the car, but do-able. One thing that helps tremendously is to take the guts out of the pump and reinstall them once the pump is mounted, just make sure the gears go back in the same way they came out. This lets you flex the tube up a bit to better be able to get at the bolts. I also put feeler gauges all around the pump drive to make sure it was centered when I torqued the pump down.

My mechanic and I were kind of confused when we first looked at the oil pickup tube lol he'd never been into an LS1 before (and I'd never been really deep into a car before), so we're looking at an oil pump with two holes on it, and the tube that connects to it with just the one. Took some looking around before we realized that it was supposed to be just fine.
Idk why GM wouldn't set it up to have two bolts, since it would obviously be more secure; and if they're going to put JUST one, well then put it on the side that we can actually reach lol
