Default Anyone swap stock LS1 intake bolts out for Stainless

If so where did you get them from? I'm looking at changing my bolts that mount my LS1 fuel rail and intake to my 5.3 to something new and shiny.

The stock bolts are kind of worn and rusty at the head.

I know ARP sells some pretty nice stuff ready to install, but it's pretty expensive.

I need to find a site that sells nuts and bolts by the piece instead of bulk, the only thing I have found is here:

http://www.boltdepot.com/Metric_sock...ucts.aspx?nv=l

And I would be looking at the socket cap head bolts

Curious what others have done...any pics of the final product?

Yeah I was looking at those...it's a M6 x 105 mm I think....but all I can find is M6 x 100mm or 110mm.....but 110mm "should" work

That link I posted showed the M6 x 110mm to be $1.79 each...which is $17.90 if I get 10 of them....but shipping is around $13 so i am back up to $30 and haven't bought washers yet.

Trying to find a cheaper source...has to be one out there

Just take one of your stock bolts upto your local Fastnel, they can get you what you want. Buy a bag and sell the left overs on here to other members.

Yeah I seen that, just trying to find a cheaper alternative to paying $50 for just a set of intake bolts. Looks like right now I'm not having any luck and I may end up going that route.

It wouldn't take much effort to clean up and paint the stockers.

(Disregard the wires not taped off or loomed, I didn't have the correct harness tape yet.)

Try yatesefidotcom he sells stainless kits for a good price and he'll break it up if you need just seperate items.

I just hit mine with a wire wheel and torqued them down, then made a template with a piece of cardboard with a hole in it and sprayed some clear coat on them to keep them from corroding...

Looks pretty good to me...

Bought them from a place online called Allens Fasteners. TONS of fasteners and shipping wasnt bad.

Thanks for the link, I ended up buying what i needed from them. I got the 6 x 110 mm socket head SS bolts....shipping was only $6.98 and the bolts were $1.64 each

Order total was $56.....but I got quite a bit of stuff...they had oddball stuff like gm hood adjuster bolts and 12 pt bolts for the rear diff cover which I needed as well
