Default First drive w/ vid!!!! 76mm turbo 5.3 3rd gen TA

Hey guys. Took the car for it's maiden voyage around the block today. I was pretty damn stoked and the turbo sounded like pure sex! I'm still grinning from the drive, and took a quick vid so I figured I'd share it.

Ignore my spazziness...I was pretty happy lol. BTW, it's not tuned yet so I took it pretty easy. Only gave it about a 1/4 throttle if that, and got up to around 2800 RPM's just to hear it start to spool. And damn, that turbo is loud! Might be because of the open downpipe.

Setup is a T-netics 76mm BB turbo, 5.3 w/ ARP head studs, 317's, and LS6 intake, and a T56.

Sounds good is that a LS6 cam? You remind me of a younger Bob Vila selling some Binford tools from home improvement lol

Yup, LS6 cam and valvesprings are in it. Can't wait to hear it with a muffler though...I'm planning on using a Borla XR1 with a 3.5" exhaust. Sounds like a truck right now!

And LOL at Bob Vila. I said "so, uhhh" like 3 times in a row at the biggining of the vid. Eh, I was in the moment I guess.

It will be getting one for sure. It's kind of still an "in process" build (if you couldn't tell from the lack of a frontend, lol) and I havn't figured out how exactly I want to run the filter. Clearance is a bit tight there so I need to come up with something.

I lived near the town center of Suffield from 2003-2006. At the time I terrorized local residents in a 1985 euro 535i with 350rwhp.

I am now in NYC but building the car in Spencer which is 65 miles east of Suffield. Next time we have a BMW turbo get together at Francescos you'll have to come.

Francescos? As in the pizza restuarant? LOL...if so, I eat thier all the time! I'm def down to swing by there if you do.

What color was your old BMW? I was driving my 86 TA back then, but it was white, and it was slow.

LOL, my neighborhood was a very quiet neghborhood before we moved in. We were the "loud" family since me and my brother are always working on cars, revving engines, spinning tires onto the main road, etc. The neighbors I think were ready to vote us out of the block but they're deffinately getting better with us, and we grew up a bit as well. I'm actually on a freindly talking basis now with the old man next door!

Very nice. I hope to finally get to drive mine the first time tomorrow. Just finished getting it tuned to hopefully drive on the street like you did. Sounds really good.
