Default rebuilt my 2000 5.3 but wont start

Hows it going guys im new to this forum but id like some advice if u could help me out all suggestions are excepted because at this point im burnt out. Well i started out pulling my engine out of my 2000 silverado because i bent the number 7 connecting rod i tore down the engine cleaned everything out and i checked my crank and cylinder walls for damage i got luck there was no damage i pulled it just in time so i ordered a new rod and piston from the dealer after i got the parts i started putting everything together by the service manual i got from chiltons i replaced the cam with the 02 ls6 cam, lifters and 7.425 pushrods also the ls6 valve springs new timing chain had everything top dead center completed the engine rebuild. i dropped the engine back in went smooth put all my grounds back on put the intake on coils new ac delco iridium plugs msd spark plug wires i didnt replace the cam position sensor and crank sensor. i got everything back together primed the engine went for initial start up and it just cranked and cranked spun great but no fire pulled the spark plug had and intermitent spark but sparkd had fuel getting to it but just wouldnt start when i pressed the gas pedal down all the way it had little pops coming out the exhaust but that was pretty much it is there something i missed iv always had a distributor my first computer controlled vehicle any help would be very appreciative ive built engines before and never not been able to start with a little tinkering HELP!! thanks

My first suggestion would be the crankshaft position sensor circuit, If you even dinged the crankshaft reluctor wheel, You will have the exact kind of problem you are describing. Is the PCM throwing any codes??

I hate to say it but it sounds like maybe your timing isn't right....only because you said you'll get a couple pops out of the exhaust......

Did you use a pushrod length checker to verify that the 7.425 pushrods aren't too long?

It has to be running to do a crank relearn as far as I know. Every one I have done requires a wot burst in neutral to about 3k rpm's.
