Default TSP/ PRC aftermarket LS3 heads and GT-11 cam installed

I recently had a few upgrades done to my SS and wanted to share the results with you guys. The parts that I had installed were

- LS3 conversion parts with LPE GT-11 cam

- PRC/TSP aftermarket cylinder heads with 68cc combustion chambers for stock compression.

-LSA head gaskets and ARP head stud kit.

-Yank 2800 stall converter with tranny cooler.

-91 Octane tune

- Most mods done in anticipation of a blower next year.

Previous mods to install were the usual bolt ons. It had Kooks 1 7/8" LT headers, Fastlane CAI, V-Max ported TB, GMS plug wires and a tune.

Car baselined very low for mods at 339RWHP and 365RWTQ. It was determined that the previous tune was off and showing knock. Numbers after the mods were 440RWHP and 406RWTQ. I was for sure expecting more especially on the torque side but the 91 octane tune and/or the new converter might have hurt the numbers. I have seen similar to better #'s with a ported stock casting on different cars with that cam but I'm pretty sure they had a 93 octane tune and no converter. The real test of these mods will be at the track this spring.

Car does run very strong with stock like driveability. In fact if not for the converter I think it would have drove no different than stock. Exhaust note did for sure get louder to say the least, LOL. There is a little bit of lope to know that a cam is there from a gear head listener but to the average person I dont think they would know. Now if I go WOT at any speed under 30MPH I get SEVERELY sideways. It also pulls very very hard up top. ALL in all I am very happy. I will try to post a dyno sheet but have been having trouble doing so.

The tune could be better (obviously) and the converter will eat up some power. All in all I dont think you did to bad. Youve got good avg power all the way across.

What are those cam specs?

I assume he means if I was able to use 93 octane with a 93 octane tune because my AFR looked good and my tuner is awesome.

Specs for the LPE GT-11 cam are 215/231 .631"/.644" 118

Good results for that size of cam + like Tainted said, the conv. will eat some.

+ "SEVERELY sideways" in that 5th gen, that's damn good !

Just the octane tune. Running 93 would clearly yeild more power.

But that cam is fairly small although its got some lift to it. I think all in all it did well. Easily be over 450whp with higher octane and stock stall.

Are you the vader SS L99 on Camaro5.com?

IMHO I'd like to know about the dip in hp and looks like Tq at the end of your pull. Can you post the graph with the rpms like stated above? But also try to include the AFR as well. Like Diet said the cam has a Lil more in it. But just my .02

Yes i'm the Vader SS L99 on Camaro5. Looks like it was pulled to about 6600 looking at my paper dyno sheet. I'll see if I can get that one on here.

Well I can't calculate accurately but if you have a stock gear 3.27 and he pulled in let's say a 4th gear which is a 1.152 or a 5th gear which is a .852 And you took it to 132? Someone will do the math lol

I think about 8 degrees more duration on the intake side would have given you a good bit more power. With the large lift and relatively low duration your air velocity has got to be pretty high to feed the cylinder. I think this cam would really shine on a l76 or any 4 inch bore motor.

i think the numbers look good, especially since it looks like that cam is spec'd for a blower application.plus you don't have the most dyno friendly drivetrain either.don't sweat the dyno #s,see what it does at the track!

Mild cam , stock compression , 91octane and stalled I say those are good numbers..
Ported Fast 102intake & TB will make another 15-25rwhp and similer tq. (yes I know they're expensive)

Really expensive considering I will be adding a Whipple next year. LOL

Thanks for the positive feedback everyone. Makes me feel a little better about droping the extra coin on the heads.
