Default Recommend a CAI for my '04 Silverado 5.3L

Edit: Found, thanks everyone!

Just looking for someone that wants to be helpful and not tell me to go look on another forum. I just recently picked up the truck in my signature and while I don't have any big plans for it, I'd still like to do a few minor things.

It's a 5.3L and still has the stock air box/filter setup, so I'd like to replace that. I'm not trying to get the best of the best, just something that I don't have to oil and has filters readily available at your typical auto parts store.

Put a K&N in it and cut the bottom out of the stock box no gains to be found by doin CAI money is better spent on a tune etc right off the bat.

I've got an airraid intake on my truck, no complaints from me. I've researched it a little and there are a lot of people happy with the airraid intakes.

Suppose to be one of the better ones for our trucks.

Meh, just get an ebay CAI. Best bang for your buck. My truck has a K&N in it thought. Came like that when I bought it. Or you can just build your own. Like this one that I did for a friend... It's all 4 in. with an AEM dry cone filter inside the factory air box (It's gutted out from the lower portion.)

I did the Airaid Intake Tube to the stock Airbox lower & UPD Upper & cut the bottom out to work with a Mustang March Ram Air kit I had. I think I have right $150 in mine & I notice a big difference in my gas mileage & the truck has great more top end!

You know what they say about looks, "looks can be deceiving".

But in this case that isn't true. It really is slow.

I have the UPD setup comes with filter lid and tubes. You can find pics of it in one of my other threads. Good for an actual 15-20rwhp gain.

If you need a deal on the K&N let me know. Their kits are the best fitting and perform great!

Morbid.

Verify your heads are not CASTECH heads or you will be replacing them @ 130-140K miles like I am.

Also, when you get to 70K-ish miles be prepared to rebuild the trans.

I have rebuilt 2 Transmissions on my 5.3 4l60E both @ 70K intervals.

Just a heads up, check those heads by removing the covers...google is your friend.
