TSP 228r vs TSP Torquer V.2?
Hey guys I have been dwelling on getting a cam for a while, but going to college here in Louisiana really limits my time and ability to swap a cam. I am originally from central Tx which is were I will be this summer when I do my cam swap in my T/A. I am having a hard time figuring out what cam I want.
TSP 228r?
or
TSP torquer v.2?
I am looking for a cam that is good for torque and drivability. stock heads, Late model racecraft will be tuning it, used for street racing and a nice track run every now and then. M6 with a brand new stock gm ls1. Full bolt ons, will be putting a ls6 intake, pulley and ls2 chain.
Also i would like to see some dyno graphs.
TSP please post here and let me know whats up with these cams. I love Texas and i'm going to support my fellow states companies!

I noticed that the torquer v2 does 400 cam only sometimes on the dynometer section, im hoping that since i have an extremely fresh motor that it will help on the dyno and track.
also, would you guys suggest with which cam?????the pac 1518 650 single springs or phc 650 dual, or prc 675 eht dual?
i need as many suggestions and experiences as i can because i want to get the best/most reliable kit for my car as it is my daily driver!
Thanks in advance

Either one will be an excellent choice for your goals, both will have great drivability with a good tune.
The 228R usually has 45-50hp gains, and will have the powerband from 1600-6300.
The Torquer 2 usually has 50-55hp gains, and has a powerband from 1800-6400.
Being that you have a 6speed I would recommend going with the Torquer 2...

The Torquer made about 6hp peak over the 228R on the engine dyno. That being said the 228R is very popular because of how great it drives around town. Both with good tunes will be very enjoyable though!!!

Dont mean to high jack the thread but I have a similar question. I have a 2002 Camaro with full bolt ons (p&p TB, TSP 1 7/8 Headers, ORY, SLP Lid and SS3600 stall) I am wanting to hit the 400rwhp mark or more with cam only change. This is not a daily driver, but I drive it 3-4 times a week. What cam do you guys recommend?? I want something with a nice power curve and not just a peak number, so keep that in mind. Thanks for the input.

i just bought the 228r and the 2.5 ls6 heads. went with it so it has more low end grunt than the torquer cam. so it comes down to it being would you rather have 5 more peak horsepower or more low end torque?

I run the tv2 in my 98 camaro with no problems, I must say I love the cam and the sound of it. I also run the PAC1218 .600 beehive valve springs with no problem with everyday driving.
