Default Dyno Result: 383 Carbureted = 570/480

Just got the numbers from a new build of one of our road race motors.

On the engine dyno: 570 HP 480 torque

Schwanke all forged LS1 383 with Advanced Induction's 243 head
GMPP 4 barrel intake, Nice 750 Holley Carb, Schoenfeld Headers

Will reside in our V8 StockCar V8 GT-1 tube frame Camaro

Seems pretty stout to me

It was fast with the carb LS1............1:56.9 lap 182 mph in the trioval @ Daytona
with only 480 HP..........starting from the outside front row and winning overall

This was when it was bodied as a Monte Carlo

You can buy a very good used example between 20-25 K. Many are ex ASA Delco Series cars. They were about 60-70 K new.

Ours was purpose built road race copy of an ASA car with the road race front clip.
Was built in 2005 by Woody at Bemco Fab in Deland Fl. Originally powered by a 650 HP 18 degree SBC. It runs at least as fast these days with a Carb LS1 and handles better.

He also built us a fine Grand Am Rolex GT type Corvette,.....but can't afford to run it there.

The car in the video is now bodied with the Howe 2011 Camaro body that is use in SCCA Trans Am 2 class.

Old ASA cars and perimeter frame late models make great road race cars. You can buy used late models for next to nothin' and put in an LS and you have one seriously fast road racer for very little dough.

Good advice. Let money having teams spend all the dough and more importantly knowledge of how to put it together, then buy it for pennies.

I love your car. The dyno numbers you gave; engine or chassis? Strong either way.

That was on a known conservative engine dyno. We have been using the Hoosier short track 15x10 3035 tire. Might have to go to bigger rubber.

To keep cost down may try the short track modified tire 15x12, about 165 each
