Same applies to Formulas, V6's and Camaros.
The SS is like the WS6 and the Z28 is like the T/A and Formula.

anyway to tell if they are 3.23 or 3.42's
Is there any to tell if you got 3.42's or 3.73's in the back. I got my car uses and don't know if any mods have been done. Its a 2000 SS with the 6 speed (M6). Any ideas, or should I take it to a shop and let them tell me?

No F bodys came with 3.73 from the factory!! Check your door, if you have GU5=3.23.
GU2=2.73 and I think 3.42 is GU6. All SS and WS6 cars came with either 3.23 (Auto) or 3.42 (Manual). If you have a Z28 or regular Formula or Trans-am, you have a 2.73, unless you orderd a performance gear upgrade from the factory.
See what I learned since I posted the question? This site is great for learning!!!
