Default Window tiny laws

I am going to be moving to tx in a year and I'm about to get my windows tinted now. What are the Texas tint laws? Are they strict about it?

front limit is 25% and anything on backs. I ran 20% for 3 years and had one warning and it was when I was at a gas station out of my car. Really depends on where your at though.

They just changed the law to 25% (35% dot) and they have been cracking down a bit lately

There are no tiny laws in Texas...everything is bigger. What is all this talk of percentages?

Agreed, if you're tiny, you don't belong here.

They are probably cracking down on small towns that the cops have nothings else to do. In Dallas you see cars with 5% all over the place and no one bothers them.

It all just depends on where you live. Some cops will nail you for it but most won't, but all it takes is one. I have 35% on my fronts and 20% on the back because I dont want to have to deal with the whole inspection ordeal.

So if you get your tint they may have changed the law to 25% but im not sure i know 35% is legal for sure in the front and the back windows is free game so go as dark as you want.

State law is 25% on dark tint and cannot be more than 25% reflective(chrome/mirrored tint).

Restrictions are for front window, and front seat windows only. 25% light transmission, not 25% tint. if you put 25% tint on the window, it will fail if they test it.

35% tint is the darkest you will get a shop to go and provide you with the sticker and a warranty.

I just got the windows tinted on my wife's SRT8 Charger last week. Texas law requires the front windows to be at least 25% but I got 20% all around. Had thought about 15% but that would have been a bit too obvious and 25% didn't quite do it for her. Having your rear windows tinted differently from the fronts looks like garbage IMO.

My wifes brother has a POS DD Camry he uses with 5% all the way around. Who the hell really cares about a Camry? Seeing an SRT8 with 5% is guaranteed to attract unwanted attention, especially in a Charger since it's your stereotype drug dealer vehicle in Houston, so I would highly consider the vehicle before I decide on the %. My brother is also considering tint and I told him not to go past 20% in his SS, he gets enough tickets as it is.
