Guess what heads
Hey guys, looking at upgrading the cam in my z, but trying to find more info on the heads. They were on it when I bought the motor, and the previous owner said they were done by A.I. Well ai says they stamp initials and serial number on the end. This is what mine say.
S2 53183. They are 706 castings. My guess is they are stage 2 5.3 heads, but I want to know who did the work and what was all done valve size etc. If any of you guys have similiar numbers or if this sounds familiar with a company you know, please let me know, or post any helpful info here. Thanks,
Jeff

Previous owner said AI did it... AI says they stamp an initial their heads.... You just so happen to have a stamp and initials on yours.....
Maybe call AI with the number? Not trying to be a dick, but if I'm reading the post correctly, you calle them to see how they mark them. Did you read them YOUR numbers?

dr whigham can you tell us what the initials are?
I see ONE letter and then numbers, to me that does not make initials and a serial number. Yes it is an identifying mark.
I think the OP sees it the same way I do and was asking if anyone knew of a company that numbered heads like that.

Yeah, that's kinda what I was thinking too. Just checking, that's all.
As far as "initials" it could have just been a loose term. Single or even triple letters could be considered initials in a loose phrase.
Some pics would be nice. For some reason, I'm REALLY wanting to say these could be ported castings from Mark Shaner.
