engine knock- first time i ran to 6k with the turbo
i finally got everything sorted out, got a tune and everything was running good. so i took up up to 4.5k- fine, then i took it to all the way up till it shifted into second and when it did it sputtered and there is a bad bottom end knock... i was only running 4lbs of boost. it was the first time it has been spun that high with the turbo on but i dont understand how that even happens... 4lbs is safe.. it was at around 12 afr so it didnt get leaned out...
any ideas? imput? are welcome

I wouldn't run mine at 12 and say its not lean lol. Want it around low 11s. Stock bottom end LT1s don't like boost. Mine held up to 7psi fairly well for a year or so, thats about it.

i can understand a mail order tune on a NA engine, but wouldnt trust a mail order tune on a turbo car of all things. My car was hard enough to tune on the dyno!!!! The dyno gives you all the information you need..granted there are guys that hook up laptops and do street pulls for tuning and it works, but with the cost of engines now days why not spend the money and get a professional tune? Maybe thats why his car is missing

You were too lean on a high mileage motor...banged out a ring land and your crank case pressure sky-rocketed is my guess. That's why you launched ur dipstick and more than likely why you beat the **** out of your bottom end = knock.
Sorry bud.
