LS4 Performance - Should I Jump Ship Too? :(

I'm very close to trading in the Monte on a Camaro M6 2SS/RS...

The only thing holding me back is how attached I am to this car. It's unique and It's perfect, I wouldn't change a thing about it right now. Hell my mom even loves this car haha.

But I've wanted a camaro since I was about 10 years old, and this is the perfect time in my life to do it. Mid 20's, single, take the train to work so gas is no issue...

You will not miss that car. Im not a fan of the 5th gen but its so much more car than the one you have. Do not waste more time considering it. If you have the means get a Camaro.

And I could keep both but it's so impractical. I drive very little because I train to work, so paying insurance on 2 cars plus 125 a month for another parking spot (I only own one) is kinda excessive.

Camaro, you will not regret it!!

Traded my GXP and bought a camaro 2 weeks later, no regrets and has been a blast since. Headers and exhaust going on next month, you won't regret it.

Go for a better car... Like a 4th gen or GTO.

And for the record, I've driven a 12 second BMW for a week and 11 second GTO for a couple of weeks , and I still miss my car, I did a bit more than just drive it though. And it should've been hitting 12s soon. :(

ehhhh, I like all the features and technology of newer cars. I'm not gonna buy a used car unless it has under 10K miles.

If a corvette is a no go...stick to a LS1 4th gen Fbody for GM and if you must get a mustang a 03/04 terminator as they are the only stang worth building up IMO...

Monte Carlo was paid in full as would the Camaro. And there's only 2 options in this poll... People told me not to buy a fwd v8 and I love it. I know what I like, I'm happy with Camaro's performance, I don't want a mustang or a vette.

the new camaro is a little heavier than what was expected but none the less are good cars. I dont care too much for the look of them but they perform well and they turn heads even though they are a dime a dozen.

If you are getting a crappy appraisal on your MC, you might want to think about this. I could swap my hood + cash, you could swap rims + cash with Shocker, and the dealer would probably not give you any less for trade in.

BTW, my Monte is the same color as yours. :D

agreed, there are about 4 G8GT's in my city of 40,000 people. There are a ton of new camaro's. Hell why not as G8 GXP since you seem to have the cash (assuming since you said they would be paid in full)

I say get rid of the monte and get the camaro. I sold my GXP and miss it because of how unique it was but Im starting to fall in love with my new charger. Im not a fan of the new camaro I would rather get the mustang (I just got smoked by the 5.0) but if you like it get it its better then the monte.

And a g8 gxp would be nice but I did a search and there are very few available, and some of those had more miles than id want. While the gxp might be the better performing car, am I honestly going to have any less fun driving the camaro? Doubt it. Camaro just has that sports car look and feel that would be a blast to experience. I can buy a sports sedan when I have kids lol.

Whatever, I'm not going to claim any car I drive is or has to be the fastest, best performing car out there. And, I can make more of an argument for it than the Monte Carlo "Luxury Sport Coupe".... But the camaro checks off all the boxes I want it to: quick, manual, v8, sounds good, looks good (subjective yes).

I'm not going to be track driving it so I might as well have a Pony car.

I'm sure most vette owners have another car they could drive in the winter. And I know it's not the most comfortable, but at least I can fit a passenger in the back of the Camaro if need be.

Yea i figured id get over it, but i put a lot of time and money in to it. Even though it was fwd and hard to get to put decent numbers down, i did decent numbers and never disappointed when i ran into over v8s.

If the Camaro is a hog then the challenger is a damn hippo :jest: I raced a 2012 srt8 and killed it. Stay away from those. Besides he already got a car.
