What are the best oil pumps out there?! My build is a LQ9 with ls3 top end an 80mm turbo. Also what timing chain? The double roller timing chain is what I see a lot.

For me stock and stock. I considered going double on the chain setup but it just wasnt a feasable investment for me at the time, its great if one breaks that you get a backup but I really don't need that so I just have the stock stuff and a new chain thats in great shape, it gets 'er done good. The oil pump, when I was rebuilding my engine for the turbo setup and I saw the configuration I swear it looked like some savage engineers at the plant premeditated this turbo system because you look at the oiling system and its practically a bolt away from turbo oiling. You just drill one hole right in a pre-planned spot that they made for us and thats it. That's the LS1, I think the parts are good to go and a lot of people have had sucess not replacing thoes particular pats. not as farmiliar with the LQ9 but I think it may be some of the same engineering. Hope thats useful

I feel like the 4an line going to the turbo may **** away to much oil to keep the engine from running dry on the front main if you build the engine loss (.0028) on the mains and .0025 on the rods.
just asking, I know there are a ton of builds out there that are living strong, it just seems like there is alot of oil going to the turbo and not the mains/rods.
I have a pte88 and they do not recomend a restrictor.

I was running a stock LS6 pump with twins for several thousand miles with no issues. I noticed the Oil pressure was in the 30's at idle. And I was always concerned with the extra amount of volume needed in order to feed these twins. (Unrestricted -4AN lines.)
This time around, I went with the HP 296 Melling pump, and will replace the old timing chain with another LS2 single.
I'd be curious to hear any pro's or con's to this setup Anyone?

I've heard great things about the katech c5r chain, but I'm using a double. I kinda wish I would have went with the c5r though. fwiw, one of my buddies had a double chain break and he is now going c5r. Live and learn, but he was also pushing his forged ls6 further than what I am.
I'm also using the SLP oil pump

I'm going to do some research on the C5R chain since most of ya are running it instead of a double, but for sure will buy the Melling HV. I had the.95 one not 96
