I just got my car.. 02 SS 70k slp lid,k&n filter, smooth bellow, e-cutout and a lm2, auto.

Friends dads car: 2010 SS 6spd with magnaflow muffler.

He keeps talking shit about how I should have bought a Real camaro and his is fast because he got a 6spd and a magnaflow muffler lol..

So would I pull him or would it be pretty even? Im on 275 BFG's in the rear.

Embarass him. I ran 12.5 at 111 with your mods and tune. Speaking of....why no tune?

Rip is ass wide open

This made me laugh

But yes you shouldn't have any trouble walking him unless you blow the tires off and he hooks. Roll race or from a dig?

It would take a really really bad driver in the 2010 to lose this race. It's a stock auto 4th gen with a cutout vs a 6 speed 5th gen with a catback. Sorry to say but you're going to be beat. Full bolt on 4th gens run with stock 5th gens.

i say close race but you get the nod because yours is a auto, should hook better.more than likely hes not a experience racer,so he will just blow the tires off.

Really? Stock 5th gens run 12.2 at 114 MPH?

I tuned mine pre-headers...no need to wait. Once you're tuned, there's nothing else your tuner can change to compensate for your headers. Thats what your PCM is there for ;)

if he can drive he will win, but it doesnt take much work to beat up on 5th gens hard, stall, bolt ons, cam, tune and a gear and you will shut his mouth, best bet go from a dig

Yes, and the LS1s beat them usually. I'm saying you need some bolt ons or a stall to beat a well driven stock 5th gen. The way people talk in here you'd think the LS1 is going to walk him hard. The OP has a good shot, but he has to get out front early and hope the other guy doesn't come around.

Yea, because I said that :eyes: Your car rolls out hard, you also have almost every bolt on and you cut a nasty 60'. That's my point, A4 LS1 f-bodys need more than a cutout and lid to run with a 5th gen that can cut anywhere near a 2.0 60'.

It also depends on what type of gears you have. 2.73's like mine and your car will only be worth a damn from a dig, forget roll races, unless it's 75MPH+.

If he's a decent driver I think the '10 Camaro SS will have a slight lead on you throughout the race, but not exactly burn you. If he's a mediocre driver you'll beat him out by just a tad. Anything can happen in these races, I beat a 2011 Mustang GT with exhaust in my Camaro, twice.

Agree with first part but not second. I got into the 11s with full bolt ons with out gutting and on stock rims

Yes he did. Was Jason.

Clutch slipping so it appears that way. Despite that the 5th gen is faster and has run 3-4 mph faster.

Correct on first paragraph

If your dad can drive-you are going to lose.

I guess when I said full bolt ons run with 5th gens, I actually meant run away from. I ran 7.6@88 last weekend with bolt ons and stall so I know what a good SI LS1 can do.

Not trying to start anything, but I ran 12.5 at 111 with just a lid, cat-back, and tune. I added gears and some headers and ran the 12.2 at 114. Stock stall, leaving off idle on street tires. I realize that an M6 LS3 SS can run a high 12 at 110-111, but once you start adding a tune and one or two bolt ons to an LS1, it turns the tables pretty quickly assuming equal drivers, etc.

The vid that was posted showed a car with a little more top end AND what looked like a good jump. Not a good example imho...

I filmed the vid. The trans am driver is a good driver and the leave was close. We ran several times that night with the same results The 5th gen leaves pretty good on the street and Lazer rows the gears like a champ in that thing. If the guys dad can drive then op will lose.

If your runnin him at the track your better race him the first couple times down the track if you want to win.....that is if he has'nt been to a track in it before.

Gotcha, that vid just doesn't reflect what I've been seeing between the two. That was just ugly, lol. Def not calling BS or anything....

With that said, the F-bodies are getting some age on them, so not all are going to perform the same at this point.
