I Guess aprarently GM got the top 4 best cars for your money..... Didn't think the Volt would be on there because of its $40k price range but I guess in the long run it pays off? & thought the Cruze would of made the list also..

Cruze should be there instead of the Volt, but they have to push the Volt somehow. Cruze is selling like crazy, even if they don't claim it to be one of the best cars for the money.
If I had a bigger driveway, I'd own a Cruze.

Would be perfect if the current Tahoe was priced like the Enclave, that would be an awesome package for the money

Agree on the Cruze... I saw a black one driving at night next to me. Its really started to grow on me. Love the look of those headlights! Looks pretty mean looking imo!
I think a 2 door Cruze like this but have the backseat windows be smaller? Would look pretty sick!

Or this hatchback & have it compete with the Subaru WRX

If I had a bigger driveway, I'd own a Cruze.I agree, I rode in a Cruze for the first time last week (Cruze Eco with the turbo 1.4L and 6 speed automatic), I was VERY impressed.
Rode real nice like a much bigger car and was super tight/quiet structurally.
We took it to the drag strip that day and my friend (who weighs over 300 pounds ) ran it to a best of 16.8 too! :D

GM really hit a homerun with this car. It really is miles ahead of the Cobalt/Cavalier that it replaced in the lineup. My sister is new car shopping, and I'm practically throwing her in front of the Cruze. It really is a tough car to beat for the price.

So the Acura TL is on there twice because you can get a manual transmission in it?

The CRUZE is one thing... Everything else on the list is a stretch, to say the least.

http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s101/BubbaLoneStar/2011ChevyCruze_RS_Hatchback.jpg :funny: That one looks like it's already trying to BE a Subaru WRX! Is there an AWD option on the CRUZE? If they added that, then a 300hp engine, they could call it the XRW and compete with the WRX!

Thing I hate about the cruze is that 6spd auto, stays in 1st gear to long and shifts up and down constantly....plus the drive by wire has that sec hesitataion. Great lookin car with a great lookin interior but that transmission drives me nuts, get a manual one if u get one

I went over(with several other people) to celebrate his birthday and saw his newest car. He retired from the NAVY as a Master Chief(that's E-9 for those who care) and for some reason I cannot explain(or even figure out), he has another job and he drives about 80miles each way for work. I asked him about the shifting and he said it's been good so far, but he doesn't beat on it. He got the "42hwy mpg" model. It's decent looking, although white, and has 16's, which I wasn't expecting. He also said he is getting 42mpg on the highway.

The "42 mpg" eco has a manual and 17" wheels.
I own a 2011 eco. My total average as shown by onstar is 41mpg. I can consistently get 42 mpg around town if I grandma it and have seen 53 mpg on an all highway trip.
It is an amazing little car.
As far as the malibu, the new eco one is about 25,000 and is rated to 37 mpg. I don't think that is too bad for a car that size.

I wasn't considering a "class war" here... As I read it, the list simply decided which they thought was best, but not in each class.
That said, "competitively equipped," Chevrolet.com lists the Malibu as more expensive than both the Camry and the Fusion. Those two cars, for their higher prices, offer more features. The Accord is only $200.00 more expensive in that lineup and all 3 competitors offer a more powerful AND more efficient standard engine, except highway mileage for Fusion, which matches the Malibu. Technology isn't free....
All 3 offer more rear headroom and more hip room, front and rear. They also all offer more shoulder room, front and rear, by inches, not just tenths. They also all have wider tracking, front and rear and as Pontiac used to say, "wider is better!" Two of three offer more cargo volume. Accord is less.
2 of the 4 still use a compact spare, but not Malibu or Accord. I used the 2012 model for each... Ford hasn't offered the 2013 Fusion yet and I'm not sure I could get a 2013 'bu either, just yet. However, when it becomes available, the 2013 Malibu will start at more than $3,000 over the 2012 starting price.
I went to Fords site and "built" a maxed out Fusion... $34,751... HYBRID.
So I switched over to gas and reached a maxed out price of $32,500... Got a 263hp V6 and more...
Then I went to Chevy.com and built the 2012 Malibu 2LZ for a grand total of $28,865.00 So the bu is less expensive. Of course, instead of a $1,500 rebate that Ford is offering, GM is offering a 3,000 rebate.
Also, the 3.5L in the Ford is more fuel efficient and more powerful. 252 @6300rpm for the bu... 251 ft-lb tq @ 3200. The Fu checked in with 263 @6,250 and 249 ft-lb @ 4500.
That's not enough though, to make everyone go "oooo" so I'll add, the Fu was fitted with AWD and I couldn't find an AWD box to check for the Malibu... For 2013, apparently there will be no V6 offering for the 'bu... I built a 2013 ECO... $30,325.00 (loaded- including the paint).
In a nutshell, it's obvious the Fusion is a better buy against the 2012 model. Drop the AWD and the price comes down nearly $1,950... I could've paid $500 more for either and gotten a gorgeous white paint...
Didn't feel up to navigating the other 2 sites, so I left that alone.
