Praise for an awesome setup
So my car has been gone for about 6 months having mini tubs and some new suspension parts installed. I just wanted to say a big thanks to Brian"Madman" for hooking me up with a killer setup that will last me forever. I made some passes fri night and sunday afternoon at my home track and had a new pb the first pass! He sold me pretty much everything I had installed and it was worth every penny! Anyone that thinks there not leaving anything on the table with qa-1's or without a drag bar are wrong, and need to call him!
Here is the setup I had on the car
275 radials
Skinnies up front
Single qa-1's on all corners
9" moser axles 4.10 gear
Stock sway bar
BMR phb with relocation bracket
BMR Box lca
Lca relocation brackets
Old t/a crossmember mounted
This setup netted me a 1.53 60' and a 11.11@ 121.2mph best pass with a 900da.
The new setup
Wolfe Mini tubs
Narrow axle 2.5"
New 5/8" studded moser axles
Madman offset lca
Madman mini tub phb
Willwood rear brakes
Reused t/a
Madman valves d/a afco shocks 4 corners
Adj rear spring perches with small spring
Madman sya bars
Front travel limiter kit
With the "base" shock settings for my weight I went a 1.459 60' and a 11.02 first pass out 1400da. The night brought the da down to around 1000 and my new pb pass of 10.96@122 mph with a 1.439 60'. There has not been a single tune, enGine, or trans change this is just from better traction. I'm hoping to get a 1.3XX 60' but I'm just not sure I have enough motor.
So to madman and my chasis guy dale thanks a ton! You guys are great!
I will post pictures as soon as I can.

I spoke with Madman yesterday and I think I'm getting the hang of the shocks. I don't have much knowledge with instant center nor have I had my car scaled. Both of those are on the to do list. There's not many f-body's around here, everyone is 4 link or run foxes, so finding a local guru hasn't panned out yet. I was right in the middle of my shock settings.

I race at two different weights. One at 3150 for RS275 and the other at 2970ish. RWHP is 405 on a DynoJet and an unlocked rated 5000(in reality flashes to 6000) stall. I'd take a guess on the .082 jet I am limited to it makes 625-640rwhp and closer to 675-700rwhp on the .093 jet.

Awesome, is that how you cut the 1.29 60'? How much out of the hole? How big did it wheelie? I'm almost 4000 pounds, but I still pull the wheels about a foot for 15 feet or so. That's leaving on the brake(400) at 4600, stall is around 5400... Need a tighter converter, engine rolls over at 6400

As you can see it barely pulls the fronts up and moves foward as fast as possible and not up. I have been working on the rear suspension more and more. On that pass the rear actually squatted because I had too loose a compression setting. Most chassis tuners want to see separation on the launch.
To compare that pass to this pass at 10.29@128 with a 6.51@103.6 660' and 1.33 60' 4.15 330'.

As you can see it pulls the wheels way higher on this pass, but the 60' is slower by .02 and the 330' is almost a tenth slower because of the front end coming down hard from the wheelie and scrubbing speed and e.t. off. The front compression setting was also too soft allowing the front end to much travel when it came down.
The reason my car runs the half track so well is a combination of every working part. The rear gear, the converter, suspension set-up and camshaft all play their own roles in this. I would say that the converter set-up and suspension set-up play the biggest roles in this equation.
Hope this helps some more.

Thanks for the videos. My car is somewhere in between there on the launch as far as the wheelie goes. I'm just curious Are you spraying off the hit or is that just on engine? I'm looking to add some separation on my rear and control the front some more. Up on the rebound and maybe shorten the travel limiters.
