Looking for slicks. Any opinions?
Hi guys, I have 15x8 draglites, and I need some 26" tall slicks. I was looking at the mt et drags with the stiff sidewall, part# 3053s, but they recommend a minimum of a 9" wide wheel. What other slick would you guys choose?
I see that M&H racemaster has a 26x10x15 but I don't know if it has a stiff sidewall. Has anyone used these with good results on an m6 car?

Why not these...

Same L8 compound as 3053's but looks like the spec width would put it on a 8" rim fine, may mushroom a little but not much. I have used these before on a set of convo pros. I sold the rims/tire so I cant compare the part number or anything but when I bought them they were already installed.
Car picked about bout a 1 foot off the ground on both tires. Def insufficent when I go the nitrous route but for N/A on a T-56, did quite fine. Actually too well.

The 10 inch width you want to run will work on an 8 inch rim people do it all the time. I would put the 10 inch ones on... it's not going to hurt anything.
I'd start the air pressure off about 14 to 15, that will get you close for a starting point depending on car weight. Above picture, car had 15 lbs in the tires and I think the car would have ran better with a little more.

M & H is a soft wall slick. I have a set of thier 27 x 10 without tubes on a 6spd. No issues.

I recommend 26x10x15 Hoosiers and no tubes. This how they hook on the street. We are on the right. This is a grudge car so I won't tell what it runs but it is a single digit car and it runs on the street the same time it runs on the track. Yes, it hooks that hard.

The car is under 3000lbs in the vid but the same tires have been ran on a car coming in at 3600lbs and no issues. I used to run M/T's and their ET Streets back in the day, since I have switched to Hoosier I'll never go back. I have no sway even with no tubes in them. The ET's were all over the place without them. If you go on Hoosier's site they recommend tubes but they also say they are not needed. M/T says you have to run tubes

I've run M/T ET Drag stiff sidewall slicks with no tubes on a 3600+ lb car off a transbrake plenty at the track since 2003. They work well at 15.5 lbs, don't rotate on the rim/move the sidewall. No experience with other brands since the M/T work (the old "ain't broke, don't fix it" idea)
