Default Rocker Arm Conversion Question

Has anyone upgraded to the bigger 7/16 studs? If so what parts did you use?

All you need is the studs. ARP is usually the choice. The holes are 7/16 the top of the stud is 3/8 factory and the 7/16 studs are 7/16 top and bottom.

ARP Pro series 7/16" studs have served me well through several builds.

PN ARP 234-7202

thanks for the part number.

i see the rocker arm nut thread length is .67 inches. does it screw deep enough into you rocker arms or is it a bit shallow?

i had to shim my old 3/8 setup because it was too shallow.

It was enough for stock valves and pushrods with Pro Mags, they were too short for the
longer ones I used with the Dart castings. I ended up using taller studs.
Most people will never run into that issue.

I used Comp Pro Mags; Ultra Pros didn't exist at the time.
In retrospect, I should have machined he heads for shaft-mount Jesel rockers while I had it apart.
It really would have simplified geometry for me.
