Hey guys first off this is my first fuel inj motor build and I'm really green. With that said hears what I have and what I'm doing. I have a 5.3 with ls6 cam and springs,ls1 intake with fast fuel rails and 72# seaman's inj, DBW TB,E-bay twin turbo set-up,6.0 truck manifolds with v-bands. OK I bought a stand alone harness off E-bay the seller tells me he thinks it's a PSI harness? It was listed as a 99-06 Vortex harness. Now my motor is still on the stand waiting on my car to get back from the paint shop so I thought i would figure out were all the plugs connect. I have found the plus for like the coils and the alt, cam, and the injectors witch will not plug in the injectors are EV1 plug and the harness is EV6 so I have the adapters coming for that. But I have a lot of plugs that I can't find a spot for and they are not marked. Is there anybody that has a diagram for these standalone harness? Do the 5.3 have different style plugs? Like I can't find a plug for the knock censors or the oil press switch. Is there a plug for electric fans already? Is there a plug for the mass air flow? ( which I'm not planning on running ) Any help would be great. Thanks Josh O yea and all this is going in a 70 chevelle also running a 4l60e trans and the harness has all the plus for that as well.

Hey guys thanks for the response. So is the 6.0 oil pressure switch different than the 5.3 and where is the map sensor located at on a ls1 intake? Hey Anthony I live sw of Topeka in the country by a little town called Harveyville. Wear is TEAK KS? I still haven't got the car back yet but any help would be great it looks like it will be around the end of may before I get it back. Again thanks for the response guys

The map is located in the rear of the intake manifold. If its a truck harness and the injector plugs have not been converted those are not EV6 plugs, I dont remember what they are called. The knock sensors have there own mini harness that plugs into a plug on the main harness. For the E-fans you will have to add pins to the PCM connectors at the fan locations (Blue, Pin 42 Low speed cooling fan relay/ Red, Pin 33 high speed cooling fan relay) and then make a relay harness for them, usually 3 relays. The MAF from the trucks is a 5 wire maf which includes the IAT sensor, so if your going to run speed density you will have to splice in the IAT sensor plug from a 98-02 camaro as well as get the sensor. Most everything else should lay out into its proper location, like the crank sensor, ALT, etc.
Lots of good info here about the harness'...

I thought buying a harness that was already a standalone like this one that it already had the fans with relays already to go. And this is not a truck harness it was listed as a 99-06 vortex harness it has the EV6 plugs so I bought the adapters from EV1 inj to EV6 plugs and they plug right in. The motor use to have the truck intake and ass but has been switched out to ls1 intake and F-body ass. I have the knock sensor harness coming off the knock sensors but don't have a plug that matches on the harness. thanks for the help guys

Vortex is a marketing term Gm has used for it's truck engines since sometime in the 90s.
