'84 Cutlass Street/Strip 441 LSX Build
Hey folks,
Basically have two builds going on in tandem - my '69 Cutlass street car build and this - '84 Cutlass frost beige, maroon interior street/strip car. This is a stock suspension car with air bags that used to be my 11.50s bracket car. She used to have a 403 Olds motor but will be getting a little kick in the *** over the next few months/years...haha.
Here's my girl as it was:
Olds 403 engine:
New basis:
Starting with an NA 441 cubes, 'glide, 10 bolt with MT ET drag radials. Will either run the PSI Conversion harness again or go with the Holley Dominator controller. MAST LS7 heads, FAST Intake, 102 tb...manual steering. No frills ground pounder.
Plan on running a finished interior as i currently have it with a little more upgrades with respect to guages, etc...
Mini tub for 315s...much more to come!!!

Thanks dude...I am really excited about it. I am looking for it to be a solid 10 second car (maybe 9s) and drivable back and forth to the track. I don't want to be greedy but the 403 Olds was 490 engine horse and she laid down 11.50s. I figure with a solid 200 hp more on tap and a solid hook I might be knocking on a 9 sec pass!

You should be in the low 10 no problem without 200 shot. I have a stock 6.0 with 317 heads stock and a mild cam with 200 shot , the previous owner did 10.4, so your with that big cube should have no problem

Still love the pro-touring thing, but every once in a while I like a low down dirty mean machine.

Been a LOOOOONG while since I updated this. Plan on resurrecting this project now. I offloaded my '69 Cutlass protouring project because I got a CTS-V this year but this car has a ton of sentimental value so it has stayed in the stable. I am deviating slightly from the original build plan in that it will still be a strip vehicle but I also want to make it viable on a road course as well as a street machine. Because of how the roll bar is installed it will remain a two seater but I have plans to use the back seat area to keep its utility intact...just a little differently though.
Powerplant scope has migrated a little bit from 441 CI LSX to possibly a magnacharged LS or even Turbo. Since owning the V it has made it difficult to want to turn away from that which is unnatural...wait, that didn't sound right...lol
More to come very shortly as I am dragging her from her tomb once this week is out...too friggin' cold here in NJ...20s for a high.
