I run the regular 555's on my car, and I could not be happier with them.

I have Nitto 555r's 315/35/17 on the back which do excellent on the street with the amount of power Im putting down. But I went with a more streetable Kuhmo Exsta 275/40/17s up front. Its a good setup, but I'm probably going to be giving the NT05r's a shot once the 555r's are done.

So y 555 and not street drags? Won't the drags grip better round turns and stuff than the 555s

drag radials have a softer sidewall then regular tires so they dont handle as well..i currently run the nitto 555 drag radials on the back of my car and they handle decently but not as good as a normal tire does

wait does is the softer sidewall the reason why the competition tires are only reated at 149 mph and the street tires have some up to 168 rating? like does sidewall stiffness/softness play a factor in speed rating?

I've had Nitto 555 Extremes all around for 2-3 years now. 275 front, 315 rear.

I usually use GY GS-D3 in the rear but couldn't find them 3 years ago and I needed new tires fast. I always use Nitto 555 Extremes up front.

They are GREAT in every way.......with my power, they stick great. Awesome in the rain too.

I use 315/35/17 NT05's on all four corners. The R's were too aggressive for a daily driver in wet conditions. For a sunny day only car, I think you could go with R's all around so long as you realize they'll have a shorter lifespan and might pickup more road trash and lob it at your wheelwells and/or paint.

Thats the model Nitto.....555 Extreme

The one with a 300 treadwear rating. Not the drag tire. I get 17,000+ miles out of them.

Says "Extreme" on the tires. Hard to see it in the picture.

NT05R is a drag radial, you do not want to run drag radials on the front of your car.

I've heard great things about the NT05, they're not the longest lasting tire but I'm sure you can get 15k out of them. The NT555 is nice as well, but less aggressive, more of a daily driver tire.

If I were you I would go with NT05s on all 4.

There's nothing that's gonna handle better than them short of the NT01, which while street legal is more of a track tire. For a street car the NT05 is the way to go.
