Default plug gap... dammit

I just did my plugs last Wednesday and I followed the installuniversity.com how to.... The problem with that is I gapped them per the website (.059). From what I have read here, GM changed the gap to around .040-.035...... Car runs great and idles very smooth right now. Should I pull and regap??? I am getting a tad of detonation at wot at certain times and wonder if the gap has something to do with it. Might have to bring it back to Futural and have them decrease the timing a bit.

input please

Thanks

Yeah, I've read a few times that .40 is the stock plug gap, however it seems like anything between .40-.60 or so is fine. I know after I switched my stock plugs out to the TR55's which come pre-gapped at .60, I noticed a big difference in how the car ran.

First thing I noticed was that the car starts much more explosive and lively when cold, before it kind of stumbled and hesitated to life at times.

Also, the first time I took it around the block after I finished the plug swap I noticed that the throttle response was much sharper. Pedal doesn't feel so laggy anymore, when you put your foot into it, the car really feels like it's scooting now and not just making noise dragging along like before. This is just what I experienced though, I mean my stock plugs were shot, they were gapped at like .70-.75, so everyone may not experience what I felt.

What plugs are you running? You may need a colder plug.
