Default G5X-3 112....daily driver or not???

I have the 114 I was about to install and was curious about the 112 b/c it will make power ealier in the curve. Can you drive with this cam on a daily basis and even road trips? Anyone running this setup, please chime in.

Cam choices...so many to choose from. I was also considering the F13.
Gomer chime in if you get this.

Thanks

i would assume with an m6 it would be fine for a daily driver on a 112.

i have the G5 in my car, M6 w/ 3:73's drives normal. not much low end at all, so its actually easy to drive in the rain. really starts coming on at 4000. drivability is perfect, long trips , anything. I just have mildly ported stock heads. im sure if you had larger heads youd lose more low end. if you have an auto, a 3800-4000 stall would be perfect. 3500 would probably work ok. but i wouldnt go less. Im happy with it.
My car has run 12.0 @ 115 w/ a 2.35 60 ft. and drive it everyday.

If it makes power earlier in the rev range, wouldn't it be EASIER to drive than the same cam on a 114? (confused)

That cam must be on a 114lsa with stock heads or you will have to flycut it. The g5x3 on a 114 lsa with stock heads do not have to be flycut but on a 113 or 112 it does. If you don't mind i would get it on a 112!

I've had a couple of the bigger cams and daily drove them all to work and back over 70 miles every day. If anyone is thinking about running a big 112lsa cam, they can do two very important things to make lifer MUCH easier on themselves.
1. Take your shitty stock gears out and install atleast 4.10's in a 6 speed car. Starting out at redlights and stopsigns with a big cam, 3.42's and my spec stage III was a royal pain in the ***. 4.10's improved that greatly.
2. Plan on taking your car somewhere to a VERY knowlegable person that has experience LS1edit tuning cars that are daily driven with big cams. My mail order tune was dead nuts on WOT, idle, hot and cold starts.. but it would take someone actually driving and tuning your car to get the part throttle stuff to where it wouldn't bother you sometimes.

Right now I'm going back to a smaller 114lsa cam for a while and try to save up some money. When things are financially stable and I get to finish the solid roller, you can bet that I'll have some 4.30's and the cash saved up to take the car to a good tuner and leave it with them to drive and tune on for a week.
