well i recently ran a 5.0 and a boss for what its worth i thought id post my experience. my car has a stock tune except suspension mods, air lid, mass air flow and catback,t56 magnum, sintered iron clutch and i have a hardtop so i guess it had a little to do with it. ok so the first run the boss tried to do a asshole ricer flyby on me so i dropped it to catch up to him meet him at the red light i had to make him race me i had it in 2nd exhaust just growling and im just stomping the gas making him look bad so he finally trys to take off from about 30 or 40 i hit it before i even get to third im already almost a car ahead of him. the 5.0 as usual tried to pick on me as well we hit it at a 40 roll i was in 2nd i hit it leaving ing him shifting in 3-4 by 2 cars. i havent had the chance to take my car to the track yet and as far as i know my car is stock ive only had it for a few months i just bought it this year so if theres anything done i dont know i still have contact with the only two owners who were friends but like many say the fact that mines deos have an ls6 block deosnt make a diff in performance but it is a major diff from my 98 ws6 that i sold possibly because of the ls6 intake. but i believe with the right driver and bolt ons they can make these new 5.0s look pretty bad being 10+ yr old cars

Lol yea I'm sorry I wrote the post in a rush. My car has all of the said mods. The other two were stock (5.0 and the Boss) and no they were far from even having a chance at walking me even though the had the jump at about half a car.

Honestly I've only owned v8s from a small block to fbodies and a vette. I'm far from being a ricer talk what you know ok I hate when ppl talk shit hiding behind a computer. These cars are far from unbeatable considering the fact anyone with the money or credit can buy one but can they actually drive it to its potential.

oh wow...WS6/SS only make a "few" more horse power in stock form, I would't say MUCH slower. Once you start modding that is out the window. All of your suspension mods are going to help you more from a dig and not a roll. I promise my little TA puts more power to the street than any bolt-on ws6/ss.

Never said it would I'm not bad mouthing or trying to offend just compared stock cars. My friend had a ta and put a vig racing 3600 stall and 3.73s in and kept up just the same with my ws6. You have a cam I can't see why you can't beat the 5.0 or atleast be close. My suspension helps from a roll depending on how fast I'm going at a roll it is a hardtop it handle way diff than my other ttop and cvert fbodies did it digs a lot harder and takes off

Agreed. Everybody knows the extra air you suck into your engine by the WS6 hood is worth about 30hp. The WS6 package is also lighter which results in it getting better traction.... and it gets you more pussy than a regular Trans Am.

You don't have a clue. WS6s are not faster than a T/a. What little power the WS6 has over the T/a is taken away by the weight gain when comparing comparable year cars

T/a was just as fast-Ws6 heavier due to the sway bars,17 inch wheels etc...when comparing same year cars,.

the car being a hardtop accounts for a good bit of weight.

2000 a4 all option z28: 3480
2000 a4 b4c: 3380

both cars on the same scale one after the other. both with a full tank of gas and only what came in them from the factory.

biggest problem was my buddy's b4c car trapped 107+ with 135k miles on it, completely stock. i was trapping 105ish with a lid only. only dif was i had 273s....and -100,000 miles hahaha.

Sounds like it gets better with time...lol. pretty dayum close tho...

ok and theres some stock camaros running 12.5 or 12.6 so its possible with the right driver your car can still be beat. yes they have a hp advantage starting off but they still can be beat by a bolt on fbody and im not talking heads and cam b/c its considered bolt on. my oppinion fords still playing catch up while theyre still picking the cars that whooped theyre ass before the superchargers and after its gonna happen again because idk if youve noticed tons of ppl are swapping ls engines into everything including mustangs. its funny cause theyre even beating some of us with our own engines. i personal think the 5.0 is garbage id take a windsor or cleveland over it or the 5.4

very true this is my first hardtop care and it seems a little faster and hooks harder than my convertable or ttop car ever did with the suspension mods it changed a lot. less spinning and all go. all my convertable did was spin all the way to 100 almost no matter how i got on it it would break again at 130ish. the ttops and hardtop i like alot better more drag race friendly

eh to each its own you havent seen my car run if i had a pssenger i wouldve had a vid which is better proof. the only thing thats given me a actually run here was a turbo 300zx when we raced i had a passenger and so did he i started walking him once i got in 4th. yes some of the tas are slower i have raced many with my ws6 stock for stock maybe not so much faster, but theres a diff some of these cars have a lot of miles and are tired as hell if not properly maintained. i also dont see how a sway bar and an extra inch of aluminum can make them that much slower

Ws6 and a regular TA will be a driver race period. Yeah the ws6 has the advantage mostly I would say is because of the hood It not having the Steel hood like a regular TA but If the TA gets the hit or the jump it's not like the ws6 is going to run it down..

Just so you know, i was born into chevys. My gto ran 11.40s on street tires. I dont need lessons on what stock f bodies can do. I know all about them. I have a dozen friends that have them. A stock one is nothing special im sorry. Heres a video for you. My car has about 15 less whp in this video and im racing cars with 100whp more then me. And my car currently weighs 3450.

It might also be due to something that happened at birth.

I can say without a doubt from experience going up against a A6 2011 5.0 BONE STOCK and probably whatever gear it came from the factory i was able to BARELY pull on it. So i highly doubt actually i pretty much know with a good drive or even decent a BONE STOCK 2011+ 5.0 manual tranny especially with 3.73 gears i wont stand a chance. So driver does make a difference no doubt and there are alot of bad drivers out there. Them also having 1:1 in 5th gear even with my 4.10's is going to be a slaughter, lol.

I know some of us see vids of some camaro's pull on mustangs and that doesnt happen often and lots of us begin to say a bolt on camaro can beat a 5.0. In the end what we all want to know which is faster, period. If both drivers are equal no doubt the 5.0 is faster. I love camaro's dont get me wrong and ive owned 5 of them, lol. You just cant deny the new 5.0 is a fast car and a great car to start with and mod up, responds well to aftermarket mods helps too.

I have raced a stock auto 5.0 not sure what gear it was in my TA I had that was stock except of a aftermarket fiber glass hood (bone stock cats and all)and I would jump out from a roll because the delay it had and by 3rd gear it was walking back up on me by the time I went in 4th had about a car on me.

if it's his girls car, prolly stock gears.......so 3.31 the highest possibility. i think the other option is 2.73's...but i'd have to look when i have a bit more time to be sure......

And if your going to compare the few stock f bodies that have ran 12.5... you mind as well compare the stock Boss's that have run 11.5-11.7. And what does driving a V have anything to do with ANYTHING?? I raced in MY boss against a CTSV auto that went 11.5 at 120. My car was up maybe 20whp over stock and his V was up roughly 45-50whp.

Btw.. the same owner of that boss, also has a H/C REAL WS6. Its not an aggressive setup. Makes 407whp. Ported 243 heads, ls6 cam, full exhaust, lid, 1.8 rockers. I put a good beating on it on the roll. Lets say your car traps 110. It would be pretty hard for me to not trap 120. Thats still 10mph. If you have ever raced a stick car with an equal driver that traps 10mph more then you on the roll. Its a solid run away. Anyway. Im done here.

I'm not a Ford buff by any means, but the new 5.0 is quick. My bolt on Z28 put a car on a few from rolls, but I'm sure they were stock. If the BOSS is anything of an upgrade over the 5.0, I could see it being a damn close race with my car having all the mods in my signature. Car is freaking sweet looking. I'd drive one for sure.

i basically based it off of my previous car (ws6) i had cam gears etc. and the wheel hop was just to bad. the shocks were worn i guess and it was lowered without the reloc brackets so it was a nightmare if i allowed it to stay that way my rear would be toast, but its coming along it was sluggish at first once i threw on the lid and change the other stuff it started waking up. i have an idea of where it should be i barely race it so im just building it for fun.

You can see my mod list (only power adder being headers\cat delete), and without seeing a dyno sheet, can tell I should be around 370rwhp if you're familiar with the LS2 V, what they dyno average, etc. Also, if you say "i beat them so what if you dont like it come get some", don't be surprised when Ohio shows up running 10s. You did say THEM as in new Mustangs. LOL Can't invite THEM if you plan on THEM showing up STOCK. LOL
