I was looking though the gm catalog and see the LS7 6 bolt #19257881 heads that are ported for around $1500 ea. but i dont know how available they are and i see the i guess the same heads without porting # 19201806 for around $1200 for the set. So here is the questions are these heads decent for a 427 lsx turbo build and with around 1000rwhp and if i were to buy the unported any idea the cost for porting ballpark?
Any running these heads? Any negatives compared to the other 6 bolt heads i shoukld know about?
Just thinking i could buy the unported heads and have them ported and still be cheaper than the ported versions or other heads out there!

for the money 300$ more each is worth it to buy the cnc version

i have the as cast set and had west coast cylinder head cnc them think it was like 1000$

but make sure you toss the ex valves in the garbage can where they belong and put SS in

300 more each? What kind of math are you doing?

1200 for a set of un ported, or 3000 for ported?

That's 1800 more for ported versions.

The as cast versions would work good for what you want, and can be ported later for less than what GM wants for the already ported ones.

Do they use the same two piece valves and the stock LS7 heads? I figured GM would upgrade the valves considering the rep they have for breakage.

I think the exhaust valves are the same junk that break all the time and porting of those heads cost about $1200 so a nice set of PRC's already done with good valves is probably the way to go!
