What upgrade next
I have a 1997 firehawk with the lt4 motor. I'm trying to decide what i should do next and if its time for a throttle body.
Performance Cam
Pace setter headers
True duel (debating on going single)
MSD coil and wires
4.10 gears
Any ideas and help would be appreciated

Sorry
Yes this was a list of stuff I have already done. Sorry my phone was dying had to hurry.
It's a 6speed
28lb injectors
I'm not sure if its the stock Lt4 intake and heads or if they've been ported or polished yet I bought the car a couple weeks ago. Anyway to tell without pulling them?
It has performance fuel pump I havnt done a throttle body yet its still got the 48mm

Yes, do the throttle body. Get the heads and intake ported if they aren't already. If you want to drive it on both the strip and street, maybe like 75-100 shot only for the track, but that's totally up to you. Drag radials help as for strip times. Suspension work is very important as well.

As mentioned, if this is a true factory LT4 Firehawk (1 of only 30 made) don't touch it....I wouldn't even drive it that much; definitely a collectable car that would be foolish to modify IMO.
If it's a regular LT1 Firehawk with LT4 heads/intake; then go for it. Headers, first, then gears, then cam.

Im gonna guess its just a normal LT1 with the LT4 hotcam and the guy told you it was a LT4 engine just assuming you didnt know much about these cars (hence why you dont know the cam specs, and want a bigger TB).
Do suspension and save for a rear end, they are made of glass already and 4.10s just make it worse.

Yea you're probably right...I just noticed he mentioned he just bought the car 2 weeks ago; a LT4 Firehawk buyer would certainly know to check for sure as the LT4 package was a $17,000 option back in the day bringing total MSRP up to $40K+ for a f-body back in 1997. I saw a black one of these a few years ago at a local specialty performance car dealership....they wanted $33K for one with only 4K miles on it. Nicest LTX car I've ever seen.

Im with all of these guys here that if its a true LT4 Firehawk optioned car to park it or leave it alone. They are some crazy rare cars and will only go up in value. If you want to mod it either buy another car or sell the one you have so you dont kill the nastalgia of it.

I know when the Firehawks first came out they were beefed up but power kind of tappered off at that point. But in 97 the first 30 Firehawks were LT4's . I ordered my new and you had you order it with a certain package from GM and they (SLP) did their upgrades. If there would have been an LT4 option at that point I would have had it. But mine was a trans am Comp TA. I had a choice of Firehawk or Comp TA I got 161 out of 164.
