Nice car! Do you have a build page? Im just starting an LS1/T56 swap in my 1990 300zx. Id like to know what you did for headers? Im wanting long tubes but not have to build them. Im thinking getting 240sx ls1 swap headers and seeing how they fit, then modding them if needed.

Thanks. i am using kooks longtubeheaders fore a corvette. modded to fit with the t56 gearbox. But in this build i placed the engine so far back so i cant tell if it will fit in stock location.
No build thread but i will update this thread with more videos and build pics.

Im using a motor plate mount set up with a front and mid plate. The mid plate is gonna be pressed up against the fire wall making the engine sit as far back as possible. I am cutting the firewall and trans tunnel and rebuilding it around the larger T56 bell housing. Im very interested in other things you have done to help me with getting mine going. My car isnt a full on track car like yours, but is very minimally street driven so just bare essentials under the hood for a weekend warrior beast. What did you do for clutch master cyl and hose, power steering lines, are you using stock nissan gauges? Also what needed modding for the long tubes? Im worried about ground clearance and the steering shaft being in the way. The track wing is sexy! Here is my build thread https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...-t56-swap.html. I just started a week before going on a month long vacation. Ill be back to it in 2 weeks to get it in full motion.

Nice Car you have there
This is how my engine bay looks and engine placement. This time im using a willwood clutch master. But in the first ls1 build i used the stock TT clutch master and it worked great. welded an adapter to the clutch slave then used brakelines to the mastercyl.
Fore the power steering i let a local shop build me one high pressure hose.
on the return side i use the stock ls1 power steering cooler. (overheatet with out it)
The headears was cut after the collector and a 45* turn and a v band flange welded on. they want to go inte the t56 box because they are fore a corvette.
They are like 5mm from my steering rod and i have moved both engine and steering rod to make it work. so i cant recomend these fore your build.

Wow! You sure do have it shoved back alot. Def a few inches further than my plans. Im still wanting to retain my interior for now. Im thinking of getting a decent set of 240sx swap headers and mod them to fit. Im running an aftermarket power steering cooler already that I plan on using plus a turn one ps pump regulated for the nissan rack. What kinda power are you putting down with your set up? Have you weighed the car yet? Im hoping to weigh in just under 3000lbs and put down 450rwhp and 400 rwtq.Any
pics and tips you can give me is greatly appreciated.

okey i think you will hit 3000lbs without a problem. In the first version on this build https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...300zx-ls1.html i i landed on 3000lbs and its a 300zx 2+2 seater with a rollcage
i hope to get it tuned within a month, but it depends on the tuning shop.
but i am looking fore a number in the 500-600rwhp range. And a weight around 2650lbs

didn't think I could post since they just banned me for my avatar pic, can't see the video, limited internet at work, but I'm pretty sure this is a road race car from the tires, at 500rwhp thats going to be fun, what are you doing for the rear end, I've broken 3 R200 diffs, are you still using the R230 thats in it?

yes i am still using the r230 diff holding upp good.

Went to the dyno yesterday.
Results 502 rwhp 402 l92/l76 runs on E85

Now i just need to get sound level down before i go to the racing tracks 95 db maximum.
I am at 100db now. I will start by adding a H.pipe to the exhaust.

Dont know but it seems they both do a fair deal to reduce the nosie.
And my exaust heads out to sides right before transmount (tunnels in car) hoping to fit a smal h-pipe under the t56 but not sure it will fit.
so X-pipe not an option on this build.

New video http://vimeo.com/47594537 first test drive
the alternator gave up . Maby it got to hot fore it with the flatunderbody and no air in to the engine compartment. it could also be that i did run the cabel on top off the alternator by a 12v bulp.
Going to replace the bulp with 470ohm resistor and add better cooling to the alternator.
Also need to sort out some problems with the brakes before the next trackday
Still happy with the results
