Lollllllzzzz at new vs old headlight.
I haven't really drove the Camaro much in the past 2 years. I guess when I was driving it a lot over the years, I never really noticed the headlight hazing. It sat with a cover most of the winter and I took the cover off a week or so ago and they looked like doo doo to me. I know people polish them but quite frankly, eff that. I spent a lot of money over the past week trying to get the car looking pristine, this is was part of it.

With enough elbow grease you should be able to polish them nicely. I tried for about 30 minutes with no avail. After coming to the conclusion it would probably take me about 8 hours to do both lights I just bought new ones.

looks MUCH better!!
but to anyone interested...
for a cheaper solution than getting the $250 pair, you can get a new set of halo's for usually as low as around $100-115 shipped on ebay. And then you pull them apart (as if doing the whistler mod) and pull out the black plastic that gives them their look. Once that's out, put the lights back together and you've got the exact same lights as stock, for less than half the price of buying the stock replacements. That's what i did for nice, new lights, at the cheapest possible price
oh, and if you're current headlights fit the way you like, you can simply swap the new lights to your old brackets

This is how I felt about my "new vs old" TA's front blinker housings. I knew that looked bad, but not THAT bad...

I just went through the process of restoring my headlights. I had previously purchased the Meguiars kit with PlastX and a buffing wheel but that hardly touched the issues with my headlights (hazing, yellowing and etching). I did some research and decided that the Sylvania kit was a better option. With as much and severe wear on these kind of headlights I don't think anything short of a wet-sanding process will work. This kit was incredibly effective and only took about 30-40 minutes per headlight. They aren't new headlights certainly but they look great for only $20 and about an hour of work.
Just some thoughts...
