Default problem!!!

I just bought a new ss hood for my z and like an idiot i bought it from an individual. The problem is is the hood hits the stock slp airbox when trying to position it. I really don't want to cut in the hood and i dont want to pay another 350 for a new air intake. Help please!

Rubbing or hitting hard? I think its a common problem for the SS hood to rub on aftermarket lids.

no, its a common problem with the SLP LID!!! my boy has a stock Z28 hood and it rubs, my boy with a TA it also rubs. I haven't came across one person with a SLP lid that doesn't rub. I think there is a write up how to fix the issue on here,

I bought the SLP air lid to replace the stock one on my SS (with SS hood) and had no problem with it rubbing or interfering with closing the hood. You might want to check how the SLP lid is mounted. Maybe it is sitting on top of something it shouldn't causing it to rise higher than it should.

SLP lid here and SS hood. No rubbing issues. I thought that was the reason people bought the SLP lid because it was the only aftermarket lid that did not rub.

Do you have any pics of the issue, I don't see why there would be clearance issues?

My SLP lid does rub a little on my WS6 hood, it leaves about a dime or penny sized mark. The lid is seated perfectly but it rubs.

Haha bob what im going to do is cut a t shaped cut into it which will allow the airbox to push through. If it all fits im going to make it where the hood just has an indent in it where the airbox lies. How do you post pics on here and ill put pics up when im done it all
