Probably an LM7.
What accessories, PS, AC?
What trans are you hooking it to?
Is it cable TB or DBW?
Which ecu, 411?
Might get you started;

Oil pan. 98-02 F body, corvette seem to work well. I used a batwing. Check classified here, craigslist, ebay. Got mine for $100 with pickup, windage tray on ebay.
Stock cam is fine to start. Anything more than an LS1/6 will probably need a custom tune.
LS1,6 intake will fit under the vette hood and you can reuse your TB and injectors. Got mine locally, craigslist $35 with rail.
Start with stock tune, VATS, emission removed.
98-02 F body or corvette PS/alt will fit in a vette but you'll also need to change out the water pump and balancer.
Kwik makes a PS/alt bracket that fits in corvette, f body or truck spacing.
Kwik also makes a sanden compressor mount in all 3 spacings.

Check the Pistons to see if you got a 5.3 or 4.8. If they are flat top it is a 4.8. You can take out a spark plug and shine in a good flash light. Reason I say this is cause i know a few people who got a 4.8 when they thought they got a 5.3. The 5.3 pistons look like this:

Trans might depend on rear end ratio. Do you know what yours is?

Not always. A late model 5.3 will have flat top pistons. Best way to check is measure the stroke of the piston. If it's greater than 3.5 inches, you have a 5.3. If it is less than 3.5 inches, you have a 4.8. I just sold a 2009 5.3 with flat tops pistons.

Your correct, the GEN IV 5.3 will have flat top pistons, I didn't bring that up because he said his engine is a 2002.

P.S. If it is a 2002 engine then it is not a LT1, so don't look for LT1 parts they are not interchangeable. It will be a GEN III LS engine like a 5.3 LM7 or a 4.8 LR4. The 5.3 and 4.8 will have a raised marking on the driver side front of the engine that will say 4.8/5.3 because they are the same block but different bore and stroke.

A manual T56 with a 0.50 6th OD might work with a 5.3 and 3.73 but no way anything less. Keep in mind a 5.7 or 6.0 C5 with T56 has a 3.42 rear minimum.
Any auto should be fine.
